First, you're never going to get full nameplate capacity output out of any solar panel. Second, Chinese manufacturing is generations ahead of the US and anywhere else. Where do you think more than 80% of solar panel production happens?

What? You think the US is investing in solar panel manufacturing? We're actively doing the opposite.

You know where 90 percent of solar panel and controller are made?

Can you not put the batteries in parallel? Connecting batteries in parallel involves joining positive-to-positive and negative-to-negative terminals to increase total amp-hour (Ah) capacity and runtime, while keeping voltage consistent. This setup allows for longer-lasting power, such as doubling a 12V 100Ah system to 12V 200Ah by linking two batteries. It is critical to use identical batteries (same voltage, capacity, and age) to avoid premature failure and uneven charging.

this is from the "solar energy industries association", the largest advocate for solar in the US

Solid deal, I grabbed a set. They shipped via Fedex. Of note, I got hit with some fees and bs totaling 10%, negating that coupon, still a deal though.

hi, any comments from RV'rs about this unit? Value etc? Thank you
I would get a bigger panel, not a bunch of small ones. I did that, now I'm stuck with them. 400W isn't much, I wouldn't use something like this unless I had to space them out and had no other option. A larger panel is friendlier for running power cables and mounting. Harder to ship.

Also, check out the Bouge RV CIGS panels. They're better performing, more expensive, but HoboTech shot through one and it was still working at 100% efficiency! You can walk on them and they won't be destroyed by heat like basic flexible panels can be. They're flexible, so come rolled up in a box. An MPPT solar charge controller is more efficient than the cheap ones. Don't buy one on Amazon unless it's a good brand. Victron is the most reliable and widely known.

while I applaud your commitment to the goal, there is nothing green about solar energy. It is alternative energy at best. The carbon offset for these panels will never be achieved in their functional lifetime. They will produce power YES, they will never be green by the time you factor in the pollution created in their manufacturing. Until you find a solar panel plant being run by solar power and wind mills, its all a trade off which I am fine with. ultimately its about producing power WHERE you need it and WHEN you need it. living in hurricane alley (FLORIDA) I would accept lower output vs NO output after a storm kills the grid.
This is absolute horse sh!t. I've done the math they pay off in 6 months. Maybe you're confusing them with EVs where there is a bigger, genuine question, and the answer can vary based on the carbon intensity of the grid where you live.

Absolutely false. What news channel do you get your information from, I wonder?
It's so easy to search the internet and find scientific papers that demonstrate payback time (for total energy required to produce from mining to manufacturing) in the 1 to 2 year range for most mono crystalline panels.
Found this one, https://www.sciencedirect.com/sci...4725086152, in about 30 seconds of searching. So many more out there with facts to read before blabbering incorrect and biased data.

paying off your purchase price DOES NOT OFFSET THE CARBON FOOTPRINT, the cost to the environment is not the same as the cost to your wallet
The cost to the environment in terms of energy is paid back with 1 to 2 years for most mono crystalline panels. Both costs are recouped well within the life time of them. Easy to search the internet and find scientific data this if you care about truth.

Agree about the 100W panels, as I started using solar ~4 years ago, I went with the 100W panels, now I'd like to really get 4 - 400W panels or maybe more to move up on usage.
However I have 7 100W panels that do the job and don't want to just toss. So if you are going to get into it, think ahead a bit unlike me.

Ummm, it's cheap. It's Chinese. Don't get the controller wet. Don't expect 400w, more like 240w on a very sunny day. Have a safe journey.
Like American made Battery Born is a shiny example of good QC.
