Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

I'd rather say their flagging mechanism is completely a black hole: I have tried so many different combinations of:

IPs, browsers, incognito, CC info, shipping info, port number, lowercase/uppercase, phone call...

All above the porting process seemed to work, but all ended up with "your security is important to us..." message.
Well if you tried all different things, then by definition the security system could not have flagged you. The fact that the order was denied means that there was still an attribute which was common across all denied orders. In an older Metro thread, people had claimed it was shipping address that would have a limit to number of orders. But if people are NOT able to order even with a different shipping address, it seems that Metro has improved their algorithm and even that is no longer sufficient.
It also seems that the block is for a longer duration. In my case it has been 14+ months and still doesn't work even for the 1st order.

I only tried ordering the first one and got blocked. I've never ordered anything from metro.

Where did you read that? As far as I know as well, the reps cannot override a secruity system denial. I remember trying on the 3rd phone in Jan last year and it didn't work at all.
Read posts in the last 4-5 days. There are at least 3 cases when people with a failed order called in and a rep was able to place an order for them. The forum software no longer provides a way to link to a particular post, making it more difficult to point out the posts of interest.

Bestbuy giving $305+$100 Gift Card if trade towards $499 Pixel 10A unlocked.
I noticed they upped it, too! I think I'm going to buy a second pixel and get it at Google because I have $100 store credit from the first to use, BUT the tempting thing about Best Buy is you can do the trade in-store, and if for any reason they deny, just cancel it all.

My one fear doing this trade via the google store is if they somehow deny the trade-in (like because it's locked even though people say it's fine, or they claim it came damaged etc). And if it takes them more than 15 days to tell me that, it will be too late to return that second phone, and I'm only buying it because it's such a good deal with this iphone trade.

I just set up my husband's new Edge from an old metro deal, but this pixel is supported so long I can give it to him next year as the Edge support ends. At this price, with the trade and credit, it makes sense.

Phone prep for Trade-in?

Ok, this is my first time trading in a phone. I got the iphone 13, activated it and set it up WITHOUT signing in to my apple id and left location sharing off. I did set up a sceen lock pin, wasn't sure I even needed that but did it.So at this point, there should be no way this is locked to an id or has find my device enabled, right? I just need to do a factory reset and send it in? That'll take care of erasing the pin and all? (I'll be trading it at Google Store.)

I called the metro support number at one point, trying to resolve it. They put me on hold without asking me after they tried to resubmit the anew order (so $55 instead of $30), and never came back. I would make sure to call the porting dept and make sure your line is released (if you plan on using the same number to port in) before you attempt to order through sales.
Does this mean every time your order didn't go thru, you have to call Metro porting support to release your number before try again to order?

If you don't want to call, the number will be released overnight.

So your saying your time is worth very little. For $30 more, you could get this phone from Cricket. You spent 5 hours on the phone to save $30.
Not sure I follow the math. Metro deal is $55 for first phone, $30 for each subsequent phone. If I'm reading correctly, the Cricket deal requires 2 months of the $60/month plan. I agree 5 hours is probably too much to spend on a deal like this, but if you can score for $55 w/ Metro it's a better deal.

Updated: nevermind, I called the port department and got it sorted out. I called the number in the wiki, fyi: 800-518-7519 and the whole call took maybe 20 minutes.

Darn, looks like my number didn't fully port. I can make calls with the new Metro phone, but incoming calls are going to google voice (I get "missed call" emails in that gmail account). What to do? I ported it out last thursday.

I agree that Metro anti-fraud system can block an order for many undisclosed reasons, but I'm surprised that SOME people with a failed order were able to get a rep to place an order for them using the same name, card, address, etc. I've been doing Metro deals for several years. Typically, once you got the message to Call Us To Complete Your Order that's the end of the road. No rep could help you placing an order.
This is pure speculation, but I think there might be different levels of "fraud severity". A friend came to visit us on the weekend. So I used her address and credit card but randomly selected an email address I set up a while ago (before Metro stopped giving discount on GV numbers). It failed on the first attempt with the same message. I started over with a different email address and it went through! I suspect if we had called in, it might have worked too.
The phone will be delivered tomorrow and we'll see if we can place an order on a Samsung watch using that phone.

I had the same problem and it was explained that it is only partially ported. If you wait a number of days it should fix itself. If you have time you can call the porting department (800-518-7519) and they can fix it while you wait.

Cricket has a 6 month unlock (with service) vs Metro 12 month (service not required). Choices.

Not much of a choice anymore. It looks like Cricket no longer offers the 16e at a steep discount.

Actually, I just did that and was coming back to say nevermind, lol. But thank you, that is the good number to call to resolve this, I got it from the wiki. I have seen people mentioning different numbers, but that one was fast and easy.

No, it's not in my case. I tried to order many times with the error at the end. Then I have the error message of the port-in number after complete the CC page.... Yesterday, it didnot release by itself, I have to call in Port Dept, they "fixed" it, they offered to transfer me to Sale dept. to order ... but the stuck port-in is still there, transfer me back to Port dept. and got hanged up. Today, tried it again: still have stuck port-in. Haha.
