Ugh, Google Fi is charging sales tax on the full purchase price, not the after discount price.

Comes to like 17.5% in taxes when it should be 1/2 that.

The 512gb price is $1499... Therefore $850 is correct! I'm not sure if the 256gb is eligible

New FI customers can have 512gb for $999

Samsung pricing is insane. Apple is final cheaper by a mile. Samung sales are nonstarters

Hmmm, so this phone apparently is supported for the next 7 years. That is a big plus for me. I don't need the hardware, but I like the support life.
The Google and Samsung phones are now supported for many years including low end ones line A36 for 6 yrs https://slickdeals.net/f/19157119

Could you please let me know when I should expect the first bill to be generated? My counter is currently showing 29.

Got it for free with trading in LG Phoenix 2 Gophone. Hope it is decent enough for me to justify tying up the line for 24 month credits.
Just to clarify , when I was saying crap , I was referring to the Pixel. Not the 26.

I know people here say to wait for the first bill to be generated but I think you only have to wait 24 hours. I would pull the trigger before the double storage ends if you see the offer and have had active service for a few days. If you buy it, activate it and the countdown timer does not start you can always return within it two weeks , I believe from either shipment or delivery date.

But its a risk and only you can decide to take the risk. For me it has worked, that was two years ago so its possible things have changed, though doubt it.

You can also take lots of screenshots , contact chat and ask to escalate to a specialist team if countdown timer does not start - but that also isnt guaranteed because their CS has a lot to be desired

Just sayin, if it was me, and the offer was there I would not wait until a bill generated if it was after the expiration of offer

Should be in a day or two. Google restocks phones from time to time during preorder period and then at the end of the preorder period they will make all phones order able so you get double storage. That's what it has done in past 3 years.

if you go to the Billing tab it will tell you when they will generate the bill. For me it will take 4 days from signup date.

Can confirm, was on the cheapest essential plan (not flexible) Google Fi plan and only had $450 offer.
Swapped to the premium plan, and it immediately showed the offer at $650 on the Fi shop.
Note that you can only do 1 trade-in per order, so I had to make two separate orders for each line (one s26 ultra at $650 off, and one 26+ at $600 off).
The Premium plan was $50 more per month for both lines, so I'll have to eat the 3 month total of $150 in order to get the above extra $350.
A bit convoluted but not too much work for an extra net $200.

The weird thing is that I originally wanted the s26 base due to size, but the 512gb version would have only been $200 less than an Ultra... Guess I'm a big phone guy now.

No, i believe its only for existing customers or recently lapsed customers:

How do I qualify for the $650 discount?

That's the term but many are doing it as new customer as FI showing the deal when one starts a flexible account. See my detailed post above also the original post.

Given that the phone was reviewed before the reveal with stacks of them in Dubai I would bet they would come early.
