Check your door hinges first - more often than not the problem is that they're either bent or misaligned. Cutting up your door should be a last resort.

Very nice.
I already made use of it today.
Worked surprisingly well.
My doors are the modern hollow doors and the wood shaved off very evenly and easily.
Lots of fine dust will form, so be aware.

I really would love to own a planer, but a quick sub $10 solution to fix 1 door? Heck yeah!

Checking this out for a friend! Seriously, we were discussing trimming a masonite hollowcore door with composite rails at lunch yesterday.

Is it just me or have they made this unavailable online for everyone?

This is also helpful if you put down carpet or a rug in front of the door and need to trim to get over it

Agree with this. I would probably be inclined to even alter the hinge mortise(s) before messing with the door.

Had custom fit doors installed.
Aholes skipped some screws.
And naturally Fire doors(heaviest) they used only the little screws.

5 of the 29 doors had issues(after 1 year).
went around tightening and/or replacing screws with appropriately sized and secured.
No trimming required.

Ditto on a renovation house built 1991
3 of the 10 needed to be tweeked.
No trimming required.

It works poorly on hard wood doors. It chatters like it hit a nail or rock and leaves cut stripes

I bought this a few years ago and it worked. Was glad that it was only drill powered and took minor amount off with each pass (I used rasp and plane and planer awhile back and learned my lesson to go easy... ryobi doesn't sell an attachment that adds back material my dumb self took off being overly aggressive). Having said that after reading these SD posts and watching hinge video - I was glad I tried that before reaching for this again. Hinge bend worked and in hindsight most likely would've improved other doors I had instead of removing material, touch up etc. Like someone commented, it was treating symptom not cause (hinge sag).
