Well in coming from intel 2600k(2011) so really dont care about buying CPUs every few years

Yeah it's ok. Not too bad. I'd rather get a 9800x3D/9900x3D for an extra 150sh dollars. You can future proof your PC with it.

Realistically, if you only build a computer every 15 years it probably doesn't matter which one you pick. What about your use case would be a deciding factor?

Yeah it's good and if you favor more cores for other tasks this is a better option than the 9800 X3D.

My 2600k lasted 12 years until the motherboard died.
But Intel does support tick tock so 2 generations generally although 12-14th gen fit in their 790 chipsets.
AM5 is more future proof and generally better for gaming but I've found Intel pricing very competitive.
For gaming though GPU matters way more than CPU

Intel refreshes that are about to drop tomorrow? are the last cpus for this socket (LGA1851)... Next year's intel is Nova Lake-S and will be on a new socket (LGA1954)...
