Tempting...this is a tool well worth it's money if you've ever been under a car swearing at a serpentine belt. I have a cheap Pittsburgh brand one that I've used in the past...it's pretty mid but it worked for my car at the time.

I had to use a standard length combination wrench to change mine.. It was such a pita because you can't get any leverage lol. Since it's also in a fixed position instead of ratcheting where you can adjust the angle, that made it 10x harder also.

This would have been useful at the time.

Try to return it, say found better price at amazon. Sometimes they will offer you a partial refund to keep it.

LoL...yes sir...I had to replace the tensioner and idler pulley and I used a regular combo wrench...and thought this is miserable! It wasn't until my belt change later that I realized there is a tool made for this.

Came here to say the same thing. $50 refundable deposit.

In 20 years of working on both mine and my parents cars, I've only needed this tool twice. Who is out there changing serpentine belts so often that they need the tool for themselves?

For those with a mid 2000s Toyota Corolla or Toyota Camry, the procedure to remove the serpentine belt requires lifting the car and removing the front passenger wheel to access the serpentine belt tensioner to release tension and remove/install the belt. With a serpentine belt tool like this one you can get to the tensioner from the top and save you a whole lot of frustration on the side of the road.

This version is typically not available for rent. You will eventually need it, and this design with the really nice and compact case is worth its weight in gold if you find your alternator has failed and you can get close to an auto parts store to buy a new one but don't have the space or tools to lift the car and pull the wheel off. The normal long bar design serpentine belt tool won't reach from the top.

Lol the people who only changed the belt and not the pullies. Then you find out in a few days when it's warmer or colder that it's still squeaking. So then you have to take the belt off the second time 😂

Didnt need this tool changing the belt on Highlander. Turn wheels to right, jack car up, remove the wheel splash guard, get a ratchet on the belt tensioner bolt & turn toward the windshield, then insert hex allan wrench in hole to lock the tensioner, while you remove & route new belt on. Dont forget remove the allan wrench when done.
