Need Help finding the right Hardware

52 15 April 5, 2026 at 10:47 AM
I'm a truck driver who looking for a Monitor (Ideal) or a tv (less Ideal) to run off 2024 ROG Laptop.

My Current setup: I am currently using a Samsung q60 32" in my truck that I use primary for either to extend my display off my gaming laptop ROG 2024 and for my Apple tv. I also occasionly use my PS5 although that mostly stays at home. I use Bluetooth soundbar for sound.

Power isn't really a problem and neither is price. I am primary looking for the right balance.

I dislike smart tvs as I have my devices that steam the things that I want. I would rather hdmi switch inputs rather than endless AI trying to switch my devices which takes forever and it rarely does what I want.

My main concern with using a monitor is that they don't have audio outputs with the exception of an audio jack which I would rather not use.

I would also like to stay with my current size 32". and tv wall mount pattern if possible.

120 or higher refresh\h rate is ideal. The higher the better.

TIA

Jason

I can't answer your question but I moved your thread to tech support, where you're more likely to get helpful answers.

Good luck!

You definitely moved it to the wrong forum. It's a ghost town here and I had better chances before you moved it.

I'll try my luck at another site.

I would not say that but as far as audio output goes what are you going to do with it. Most TVs have built in speakers some monitors do too. If you are using a Bluetooth soundbar why do you care about the sound options?

You can possibly use something like this
4K 60Hz HDMI Audio Extractor with Optical and 3.5mm Outputs
Regular price
$40.32

I moved it because technical threads in the lounge typically end up looking like this one: https://slickdeals.net/f/19114489-need-recommendations-for-wireless-bluetooth-speakers?v=1

as you'll see, komondor was one of the few to give a helpful answer (and has once again come through here). good luck! Peace

I did PM Sword but have not heard back, it is possible he is not online all the time since they don't have many posts over 19 years Smilie
