This is the bare minimum you're going to need to cut a 2x4. You could cut 1/4 inch plywood or OSB. It's pretty good starter kit. You're not going to do any framing or major construction with this kit.

The 5 1/2" is a left side blade which I happen to prefer, but some may not. I'm going to redo my 12'x12'deck and I'm confident these two saws will be perfect for that. It's hard to beat less than $30 per tool. Also, I believe they come with starter blades too (sometimes they don't), which is cool.

Only 1/4 inch? Can these cut 3/4 or 23/32 inch plywood boards?
