This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.
I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.
Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.
In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)
On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.
So all in was $59.92.

R u putting the phone that needs to be unlocked in June on your free line now? Probably a good idea and at least if they refuse you will have already started the process if they don't accept the date it was originally activated. Might look better to them too then putting it on the line and then immediately asking for it to be unlocked. I wonder how it would have gone if it wasn't put on the free line and just attempted to get it unlocked? If it's on the free line they can look up when that phone actually went on the free line--vs if it's just sitting there in a drawer--obviously if they wanted to dig they would know it wasn't on a line. Any comments on that from anyone?? Those that didn't put it on the free line for unlock and got their's unlocked?
This unlock process is YMMV and rep dependent. Each one goes about it differently so you'll need to do a bit of convincing.
