It got unlocked this morning but it took an hour on chat repeating myself over and over. I asked for a ticket to be created like the previous rep did for my previous phone. Transferred me to a supervisor and we went back and forth about the unlock policy and the dates I activated. I think she got tired of arguing with me and then I got the notification the phone was unlocked. Very annoying process and I'm definitely not looking forward to it again in June.
I can guarantee you this that they can unlock on day 1 without 60 days. The 60 days is just for the business way to make money. Mint Mobile Unlocked my phone on day 2 without active on the line for 60 days because I said that I will travel abroad and many people did that too.

Looks like the MDM failed to register the phone and could be down when you swapped. Reps may be clueless and you may have to tell them what to do to get things done sometimes. Ask them to look up their network activation logs to confirm the activation date and submit a ticket to unlock it as the MDM glitched and could not unlock it.
I just chatted with them again. This time they said I have to waited 60 days since it was activated yesterday. They agreed that it was activated on March 21st, but they said that I removed it from the line. They said it needs to be active on the line for 60 days, not removed.

Did they give you a reason why it wouldn't unlock until after 6/15?
Not active 60 days.

It will be interesting to see if the phones on the lines I suspended will get unlocked. Won't know until around 6/17. I have left the one phone active on the free line so that should unlock on 6/15 without a challenge. Yeah right on the challenge lol

R u putting the phone that needs to be unlocked in June on your free line now? Probably a good idea and at least if they refuse you will have already started the process if they don't accept the date it was originally activated. Might look better to them too then putting it on the line and then immediately asking for it to be unlocked. I wonder how it would have gone if it wasn't put on the free line and just attempted to get it unlocked? If it's on the free line they can look up when that phone actually went on the free line--vs if it's just sitting there in a drawer--obviously if they wanted to dig they would know it wasn't on a line. Any comments on that from anyone?? Those that didn't put it on the free line for unlock and got their's unlocked?

I was planning to flip flop to get 3 phones unlocked using the free line but sounds like it might be better to just eat the cost of extra $20 per line so they stay on the line they were originally activated on for 60 straight days. That way I dont have to jump through any hoops

I didn't activate all of mine on the day of purchase so mine would actually take me into 90 days Frown. I activated the main line immediately and then the other 3 were activated a few days later--sure wish we could pay for partial month but that won't happen either. I did suspend the 3 lines so we will see how those will unlock. Not sure if I will put them on the free line to get them unlocked but I do have time to get them unlocked--would be great if it only took a day or two on the free line--and hopefully I won't have to start from scratch on the 60 day time frame.

Yeah I asked her if she just wanted to save us both from wasting an hour in June and just unlock my S26+ today instead of making me wait 3 weeks. She wasn't interested but said she would "notate my account". Maybe the 3rd time is the charm and it will go smoothly!

I have a question. In order to request unlock, that phone needs to be active again on the line before requesting through chat or call right? That was what I did last year for 6 S25 phones series. Someone said that you can request unlock even that phone is not active on the line; is this true?

I think I need to act as a car salesman to these Spectrum agents this time in order to unlock my 12 S26 devices. 😀😀😀 11 more to go, but looks like a miserable journey.

I had a S26 that got moved off the line after an upgrade and brought back as BYOD and the reps wouldn't unlock bc their system showed BYOD. I just pointed them to the original order # and they "researched" it and was able to unlock. First rep refused to unlock no matter what I said but the second one was able to.

This unlock process is YMMV and rep dependent. Each one goes about it differently so you'll need to do a bit of convincing.

How did you get the manager to give you extra $400?
I guess there was a promotion if you signed up for internet in the past 30 days and added a phone there was a $400 promotion. I was in the process of purchasing phones and I said I sure like the Ultra and the sales person said well my manager said if you want to purchase the Ultra then we can add a $400 credit because you just signed up for the internet. I did sign up for the internet online earlier that day and then went to store to purchase the phones. After the transaction the sales person said oh you needed to purchase the phone on payment plan to get the $400 but my boss will honor it because the transaction was done paying for phone. I went back the following day to trade in more phones and asked how they were going to do the credit--and his boss figured it out and the credit did appear on my account. It will only come off of phone bill and not off of internet but he did say if I canceled account then I would get the credit. I'm thinking once I get the phones unlocked I will ask for the credit back on credit card or by check. All phones were paid for completely at store--so ended up paying tax only. This $400 was an additional promotion--because of internet. Would this $400 extra promotion worked if just purchasing the S26 plus --I don't know but it was over and above the $400 discount on phone. Looks like I have around $127 pending for CB from a site for signing up for internet.
A special thanks for OP and others that have chimed in on this deal to help inform me.

When you moved it back to the line, did you do it online by yourself?

No it wouldn't allow me to swap Esim myself so I had a rep help me but the only way they could do it is by placing a new byod order to upgrading the line with the new IMEI. This turned the phone onto a byod device.

I just did it online by myself using the BYOD method by going through the Change Device option.
