If you're like me and have 5 differently sized drives (cause, let's face it...hard drives are expensive now), running mergerfs and snapraid on a linux box are the best solution with the JBOD configuration on these DAS's. Might be an enticing option for many folks.
On a side note, I'm not familiar with ORICO as a brand, but I see a lot of them on here. Rated pretty low (3.0) and doesn't have very many customer reviews doesn't instill confidence. Also, I can see USB 3.0 being a limiting factor as well, though personally I am currently using this on mine and it does fine for just our small media server setup. If used for frequent backups, then you may notice a difference there.
