I keep track of lithium prices as part of my job. prices are going down, and have been for the past few years. Manufacturing costs are also going down (even for American brands, even with tariffs). So really no good reason why $10/Ah wouldn't be viable again. For 18v/20v batteries, I see that rate almost every month or so here on SD.
Granted 56v/80v is more power, but man these batteries are expensive. Greenworks 80v batteries are cheaper than these when they go on sale.

Edit: adding a link to show a higher powered GW battery (80*4 = 320Wh) goes for less than this Ego battery. And I've seen even cheaper on the GW 80v

If you're really committed to buying ego, rather than the knockoffs, you can do better at Lowe's by buying one of the BOGO tools that come with an extra battery, then returning the tool. For example, the 800 series mower plus extra 5AH battery combo is $649. The app breaks that into $496.70 for the mower and $152.30 for the battery. Leaf Blower plus extra 2.5AH battery breaks the battery out at $92.67.

Amps are only part of the equation - at 56v you are getting a much larger bettery per amp than at 18. Also $10/ah is unfortunately the good old days.

Don't be so quick to spout hype nonsense.

Not a bad price, you want to stick with at minimum the 5.0 batteries. These work fine in 2 stage snowblowers, lawn mowers. and great in leaf blowers or weed wackers. Avoid 3rd party "compatible" batteries as much as possible. Normall you can buy a tool combo that at least comes with a 5.0 battery. But if you had to buy just the battery only , this is a not bad.

Why do Ego batteries go for SO much more than $10/Ah and still considered a deal? This one is like $40/Ah!
I get that the tools are great and all... But at this point it's the just the brand hype, and the fan bois feeding the hype.

$10/Ah used to be the standard "decent value" price for 18V/20V major-brand batteries (DeWalt, Milwaukee). Now it's the "smoking deal" price for those, and you'll probably never see 48V or higher for that price.

$10/ah applies to 18/20v batteries. Ego batteries are 56v,so triple the amount of stored energy per ah. The Ego 5ah battery has the same number of cells internally as a 15ah 18/20v battery. Given that, $30/ah would be a similar target price.

This is news to me - my company sells tons of Lithium batteries (large laptop maker) and I was told earlier this year that costs are going UP since cars are consuming so many Li Ion batteries. We saw a 10% price increase on batteries. One piece of good news - most laptops are moving to recycled lithium and cobalt in their batteries, so at least less environmental impact and no change in battery longevity.

LOL. 1 feedback total related to the 3 listings of EGO batteries they have. Probably stolen from Lowes/Ace and up for resale.

They are 56V batteries. So compared to the 18V batteries, you're getting 3 times the batteries. And these batteries have additional safety and longevity features (so they claim)
