With the better quality brushed motors you can easily replace the brushes and replacements are readily available, though I have no idea if this is such a motor or not.
And yes, this is a big reason why brushless motors are so much better -- as long as they don't get too hot, they'll last until the bearings wear out. (Other reasons: more power, more efficient, no ozone or burned brush smell.)
But yeah, if you want a hobby-grade R/C car in 2026, pay a little extra and get one with a brushless motor. (And the same goes for power tools.)
