This Pixel 10 upgrade promo is mainly a targeted T Mobile trade in deal that can make the phone, and sometimes Pixel Buds 2a, nearly free on qualifying lines. Costco ordering can waive the $35 connection fee and add a $100 shop card, while T Life often shows the offer when the website does not. The catch is that eligibility is picky, with some legacy, free, prepaid, or Advantage lines not qualifying, and the trade in tool may reject certain phones despite the any condition wording. Early payoff can forfeit remaining credits, so the best value comes from keeping the line active through the full credit period.

pixel 10 is not worth 800 bucks its pixel 9 disguised as next gen like all the phones for the yr they forced ai slop down everyone throat. pretty useless to justify the higher price. its at most worth 500-600 at launch.
800 bucks is a huge stretch.

anyway wait for pixel 11 and hope they actually upgrade parts people are better off buying pixel 9 instead of pixel 10.

I'm chatting with T-Mobile support on X to check the status of the Costco $100 gift card, but they don't seem to know anything about the promotion. Is there a rebate or promotion number that they can use as a reference?
I checked my rebate status, https://promotions.t-mobile.com/Costco, and my $100 gift card was waiting to be claimed. Not sure why they never sent a text or email that it was ready but it was and I clicked on the link and redeemed it. You may want to check yours as well.

Did you need to submit your rebate or was it automatically added to your account?

Yeah that's 4 months ago. The rebate should be there in 90 days.

It probably was there in 90 days. I just checked the other day and the gift card was claimable. Like I said, T-Mobile never sent an email that the gift card was now available. I was waiting for a notification that never came. My point being, check the link and yours may be in there as well.

I know. I usually check it once a month whenever I'm dealing with T-Mobile rebate.

Thanks to OP for this. I got 4 of them, bought some iphone 4s' from Mercari and traded them in-store. I slipped the rep $20 to trade them in on the spot so I had receipts showing they were accepted at full promotional value. Tmo in-store reps are getting the shaft from a corporate perspective, so do someone a kindness.

Unfortunately, just a few days later, both in-laws Samsung A32s were reported to have expanded batteries. I would have much preferred to trade those in, since they are actually hazards, but I'll hope for the next any trade/any condition includes those models. Cycled out the Samsungs for the Pixel 10s, and they are happy now.

Have an old Simple Choice plan, and I have not only seen the promo credits on my account, but confirmed no account changes occurred! Also ran the deal through Costco, so, really this is a money maker for me Smilie.

No plan changes, and I'll be sticking with Tmo for the foreseeable future.

Welp, in true carrier fashion, Tmo is retiring a bunch of legacy plans and force migrating folks to newer plans, starting today June 29th. The timing is BS with how wide this promo was. Maybe I'll return all of the phones to Costco on the 85th day just to F them and go to another carrier.

I cannot believe it.

T-Mobile Confirms Price Increases For Legacy Customers [tmo.report]
Some T-Mobile customers who've held onto old phone plans are being notified that their accounts will soon be automatically upgraded to the company's current lineup of plans, which in some cases will mean an increase in their mobile phone bills.
A representative of T-Mobile chose to not share which plans are being retired, but said some of them stretch back 10 to 15 years. That could include Simple Choice, T-Mobile One, One Plus and Magenta family of plans, as well as grandfathered Sprint plans that carried over when T-Mobile and Sprint merged in 2020.
The company's chief marketing officer said that affected customers won't be given any choice – "it is just going to happen."
T-Mobile claims the move is not motivated by money, but rather on simplifying the number of plans it supports.

So if you have simple choice and did the $800 trade in, they permanently increase the price of your line?
No, they raised the price of most/all simple choice plans, separate from the deal (when this happened 1.5 years ago). And it looks like they just did it again today except much worse because now they are raising prices and forcing people to the new plans. Much sooner than I was expecting after this deal was announced. Bye bye T-Mobile

If you have watch lines, most people pivot to Google Fi, which uses the Tmo network. They have a promotion for 50% off for a full year that ends I believe today, 6/30.

If not, US Mobile is really popular. I'd think Visible & US Mobile will run some sort of promotion after hearing that Tmo is screwing some older customers - I believe they did something similar last time Tmo pulled this. Maybe a 4th of July sale or something?

I also know there is a lot of discussion on the Tmo subreddit about the new Verizon "Simplicity" plan which is $30/line/mo. Personally, I'd use their 30 day trial (on the main site) to see if their coverage works or not. That plan does not include new device promos/EIPs.

There are other options - specifically connected to cable companies - Comcast & Spectrum who offer some great deals if you're in their service areas. I remember Spectrum giving lines and phones away.
