Picked this up last week for the same price. Handled my big shrubs with ease. My old corded one couldn't get through them. Handle doesn't rotate but that was a non issue for me.

After trying both, i came to the conclusion that, that all the regular tools should be 18v, but all the gardening tools are much better 40v.

I have the 40v edger, chain saw, and blower. However, 18v edger seems just fine.

I own several of the 40v yard tools and I have been impressed by them all. I've used this hedge trimmer for an entire season and have several dozen bushes. I am able to complete the whole yard with a small 2ah battery. Cuts well, never bogs down. From boxwoods to crete myrtles.

I got the 18V version for $100 (totally not a Slickdeal), and it works very well. I had overgrown bushes, and they look great now.

I bought the 18v one on clearance last year.
Visit your store, maybe they have one still sitting there.
