Received it for free from some BS rippling deal. Ended up selling it today on FB marketplace for a hundred.
It's a decent small speaker which punches above it's weight for the size. The battery life is 10 hours which is low for the speaker of this size. Many reviewers claim it has terrible sound quality at high volumes but it sounded pretty good to me. I just have way too many great speakers thanks to Slickdeals.
Overall, at this price point I'd much rather get Marshall emberton 3 from best buy (which is hilariously enough worse than emberton 2) which could be bought for 99 USD right now, has better sound (yet a little larger), more suitable for outdoors use and has a 3x battery size.

I knew I shouldn't have listened to you. Now I want one. The retro style of the Marshall Emberton 3 is really nice. Got too many portal one already.

So I now want the Emberton II.

Emberton III if: You need to take hands-free phone calls on your speaker, prefer having a physical power button, or want the latest Bluetooth technology (Auracast).

Emberton II if: You want to save some money and you prioritize daisy-chaining multiple speakers together using Stack Mode, which is noticeably missing from the newer generation.

The Emberton 2 also has better looking logo btw, they decided to save 50 cents on the new one, and you can see black plastic "background" vs the previous one was cleanly cut. The problem is that 2 is more expensive than the 3 at most places. However, I did found one for 99 usd as well

Did you try the Sonos features though, Marshall is just a normal BT speaker. Sonos has a whole app and ecosystem and Alexa integration. They're not direct competitors. But yes Marshall for the edge in sound quality.

Still overpriced for me but just wanted to mention it's not just a "dumb" BT speaker.

Sure hope this revision doesn't break 13 months after owning it like the last one did.

Have been toying with the idea of getting this to "enable" AirPlay2 on my older Sonos speakers – I believe you AirPlay to the Roam then group your other non-AirPlay2 compatible speakers to the Roam in the app. The other less expensive option would be to purchase a refurbished or used AirPlay2 compatible Sonos speaker.
