I've had one for years and love it. Perfect for smaller grills. One benefit it has over some of the larger charcoal chimneys (especially the Kingsford brand that I thought I got a great deal on) is the vents it has along the sides that allow it to breathe better and get a more even burn.

Protip if you're using this for a larger grill, just get one chimney full white hot and pour it on your grates then pour some cold charcoal (not too much) over the top and fan until all the coals are hot. You can light another chimney while fanning if you need even more hot coals.

The Weber ones really do last longer than the cheapo brands. I've had mine for years. I had a cheap one from the grocery store and it got rusty and fell apart.

Very true, you get what you pay for. This is my go-to method with an electric lighter (take 7 minute) before I bought the small torch (take 1 minute). Cuts down the time it takes the charcoal to turn white.

Update: I paid $11.42 back in 2015 so this not much of a price increase.

I have the full-size version, and absolutely love it. One tip that I have is that you can drizzle a little bit of vegetable oil onto the newspaper or egg carton you're lighting underneath, and it cuts down on the time until the coals are ready. Like, flames shooting out the side holes and smoke billowing out the top kind of situation.

Also,

If you have one of the larger ones that doesn't vent as well, metal drill bits are cheap and easy to fix this problem.
