This is pretty good. I bought mine in "new" condition when woot had them on sale for $240 earlier this year and Amazon followed suit shortly thereafter.

You know what, you're absolutely right, I forgot. Guess what I did: I was able to call woot's customer service and request a refund for the difference of $40 which was honored. I straight up just memoryholed that part of the story in which you just reminded me, lol:

Even though that's a legit risk, you still have the ability to make a return w/in their return window. To take it a step further, I actually bought my 9900X last year during Prime Day for $306 and it's been working like a charm in my gaming/editing rig ever since.

As someone else mentioned about another computer item earlier "like new". Buy two and re turn the worst appearing one or try both and keep the best one and return the other.

The people downvoting are the ones who commit return fraud. Amazon doesn't give a hot shit if the item returned to them is the actual item. If you really want it, buy it, and if it ends up being return fraud from some shitty SDer, then you can always return the same thing yourself. Yours would be a legitimate return of a product that is not as described. I wouldn't buy something like this used from Amazon in the first place, too many pieces of garbage out there commit return fraud and then try to make others feel bad when they treat it as a legitimate concern.

12 core AMD is dumb. Only 6 vote for games , latency between 2 ccx is awful for many productivity usage. I would rather just buy a cheaper 7500 x3d or 270k plus

I mean it's pretty self apparent, they purchase any high value item, they send back a fake. Maybe a different item that's much lower quality, maybe they take an extract the valuable and just send back the shell, or maybe they claim that the item sent to them was empty in the first place and just send back the package while lying about it. But then whenever the next customer buys the item, if they get a returned one, there's a potential that you get that returned fake item.
