That definitely doesn't make it obsolete. Android updates are overrated.

When was this 400$?? Lol I paid 250$ for it I guess when it was on sale from bestbuy, been using it over a year now. Battery life is great, I keep the thing at half brightness or a little over depending on use case because it's bright af at full lol. I keep it at 120hz refresh rate, it's snappy, plenty of storage, I use 4gb of virtual memory as well, not sure if that makes a difference with the 8gb base ram, stylus is simple but nice to have. It's a good phone- not sure if I'd pay 190 now knowing the 2025/26 have better snapdragon chips..

I cannot complain about this phone. It worked perfectly for me. Until you know I accidentally stuck it in my swim trunks pocket, and then got in the pool. Not realizing I had done so.

you know I take it back, there is one complaint, that is that the stylus is absolutely useless. but if you just ignore it then everything else is fine.

I got mine Oct 8, 2024 for $250. There were several hot deals here around that time for that price.

Obsolete out of the box. It only updates to Android 15. It's been a decent phone otherwise.

I paid $249.99 about a year ago. It's a fantastic bang for the buck. A few highlights:

microSD slot
Nice P-OLED screen
Ridiculously good battery life
8 GB RAM
Headphone jack

Opinions are like belly buttons--Everybody has one and they're all different. It definitely makes this a no go for some consumers.

I have this exact phone, in caramel latte. It never sold for 399, there was always a discount attached. I was salty because the 22 and 23 models dropped to 250 after the first six months. I think I paid 300 for my first, it got ran over by a car (and still worked although it was visibly curved lol) and my second for 250, over a year ago.

BTW it's a good phone, excellent value for the dollar. Not to be confused with the other Moto G line, including the Stylus 5G with 128GB storage because it gets less RAM etc.

My only complaint is the Glance lock screen malware that Motorola has as an unremovable system app that was slid into my phone ~9 months ago. I have to jump into settings and do two backflips to get it to go away every two months or so because it reactivates itself. Big thumb down for that.

Not even close. Every phone has a limited update support system. About the logest you'll find is the Pixel line. The bang for your buck between major updates has rapidly decreased over the years. Android 15 is still quite viable for most people that don't care about latest and greatest, which is anyone that buys a motorola. And don't even start on "but wah wah, I need my security updates". The best security is common sense.

Glance is the Walking Dead of bloatware.....mind-numbingly distracting with a kill switch that couldn't be more obscure or impermanent. Whoever's responsible for it deserves 40 years @ Gitmo.
