When was this 400$?? Lol I paid 250$ for it I guess when it was on sale from bestbuy, been using it over a year now. Battery life is great, I keep the thing at half brightness or a little over depending on use case because it's bright af at full lol. I keep it at 120hz refresh rate, it's snappy, plenty of storage, I use 4gb of virtual memory as well, not sure if that makes a difference with the 8gb base ram, stylus is simple but nice to have. It's a good phone- not sure if I'd pay 190 now knowing the 2025/26 have better snapdragon chips..
I have this exact phone, in caramel latte. It never sold for 399, there was always a discount attached. I was salty because the 22 and 23 models dropped to 250 after the first six months. I think I paid 300 for my first, it got ran over by a car (and still worked although it was visibly curved lol) and my second for 250, over a year ago.
BTW it's a good phone, excellent value for the dollar. Not to be confused with the other Moto G line, including the Stylus 5G with 128GB storage because it gets less RAM etc.
My only complaint is the Glance lock screen malware that Motorola has as an unremovable system app that was slid into my phone ~9 months ago. I have to jump into settings and do two backflips to get it to go away every two months or so because it reactivates itself. Big thumb down for that.
Agreed, that stupid Glance thing never goes away just like microslop pop ups for cloud back up.
This seems dated at this point. I just got a 128gb renewed 2025 on amazon for 186, it has less space but has an SD card slot and i believe it's much better hardware/screen. isn't the 2024 a clone of the 2023 essentially with some small updates? My refurbished 2025 looked brand new, not even one scuff.

Yup, Glance is annoying. If anyone figures out how to remove it, please post.
I have uninstalled glance from multiple motorola phones using shizuku (must be sideloaded) + canta debloater on the google play store. you have to enable developer mode and there is the potential to brick phone features if you force uninstall more than is required.
I wouldn't recommend it for people who use this as their main phone, I think I messed up my flashlight gesture since it only works while I have the settings open app now.

The 2024 is considered (by XDA at least) to be the best Moto in the past 3 years. The 2025 was a step down especially in battery life.

2024 through 2026 are clones of each other except for minor changes and color (and of course which version of Android they can get). 2024 was the first one where they had an OLED. 25 had a charge speed increase, and 26 changed to an active stylus.

2024 has snapdragon 6 gen 1, 2025 has gen 3. That's what i meant by underlying hardware in my OP. I am positive 2024 is a good phone. I have a 2023 phone and it's still good, but i've replaced the screen too many times because i stupidly shattered the original, my bad. There are actual hardware updates on 2024 vs 2025 that matter. I'm merely commenting on the product price vs what is available in the market, as many here often do.

Has SD card slot
And a 3.5 mm headphone jack
😶
It's an option, but I don't recommend it for most today. Eventually GSI will be the Android OS however.
