When I saw them on the shelf, I was ready for the clearance price. I couldn't resist and made the purchase.
However, I just checked my receipt. It lists Sony with an MSRP of an astonishing $330. But I was only charged $99. In total, 70% OFF!
Even the employee was surprised. There were only two left in my store – now just one, and the employee claims it's his when he gets his next paycheck.
After a quick search, I noticed the newer Sony 'buds have an oval shape but these older XM5's sure looks like very close performers. I keep coming back to their flagship earbuds. The sound quality and a ton of other great features are just amazing.
I'm not sure if it's the absolute best price, but it's definitely the lowest I've ever paid for flagship Sony earbuds.

For $229 in a Target a couple of weeks ago. I assumed it was a one off/store specific
But if they are also clearancing the buds at another store, this might be more systemic

If you could snag the WH-1000XM6 for $229 buy those all day. They were a significant overhaul from the WH-1000XM5 model (internal and external/folding). Notable hinge issues with the WH-1000XM5, be aware if you purchase those with this discount
