well, right now the 2025 version I believe is the newest (unless there's a 2026)
so let's say you do the deal you speak of, the phone is locked to that carrier for 12 months and you're probably paying 2-3x the cost at $40-60 a month versus a $15 a month all inclusive plan.
So your 2025 version won't unlock until Aug 2027 and it's the same 'age' as the phone on this deal. Thus I see no value in doing that if you need the phone now rather than overpaying or using it for a month or two to meet the conditions and sticking it in a drawer until next August to have it unlock.
I buy from a carrier that I know works for me and I know I will stay with for the period.
Actually just bought the Pixel 10 from Mint for $350. The price includes 1 year of Unlimited service. Unlocks in 60 days. "7 years" of support.

They say unlocked. They were retaped and the paper that covers the phones was missing. IMEI were correct though.
