I have this pump, it is awesome. I highly recommend it. I carry it on roadtrips, use it for bikes, trailer tires, pretty much everything. Fits well in the hand and you can set it on the ground while it is running.

As other comments mentioned, this need some cooling off time after about 5 mins of uses. I broke 2 of Ryobi styles inflator just by trying my luck pushing it over its time limited. When opening it up, some components were plastic and give me a feeling its their intended design to break over time.

The motor and everthing will work till the end of time, what made it unsuable are those junk parts holding components and pistons, etc. I can tell just by my amateur knowledge that those plastic parts will break shortly after warranty due to heat, vibration and wear.

Love the idea but these are trash for anything but pumping up basketballs and maybe adding air to a 35psi tire once every few months.

Also, when they fail, it's often spectacularly, as in sparks, smoke etc Don't' worry about only a 1 year warranty, as it won't last that long if you use it at all.

After the 3rd one I was like, nah, time to look at dewalt

wait what? how do you pump out oil with this thing?
Get a pump that takes compressed air and swap out the port for compressed air with a schrader valve. Or use an appropriate adapter.

Just an idea, but how about using it within its' design parameters? I've been using one for over 2 years with no issues.

Love mine. But they don't last. Burned out 9 months after light use. Used it only to top off tires, never to inflate from empty.

Warranty was also an incredible pain. Took 4 months from the first call to finally receiving a replacement unit. You can't call the company directly, they force you to go through local repair shops who then require you to come in and have them evaluate the tool before they'll approve Ryobi to send you a replacement. Ryobi tools are basically throwaways once they break.

Guy gets one of the good ones and crows about it.Nowhere in the instructions does it say max 5 min runtime and let it cool. Mine failed after 9 months of light use. And the warranty process is crazy-4 months from first call to actually receiving the unit.

I have to agree. I had 5 handheld ones and those lasted me a few years. These new cube types are great with the psi setting auto stop, but they really don't last.Mine started grinding like Ron Jeremy and sounded like a rusty tanker ship rubbing up against a metal dock.

Came here to say the same thing. The pistol style lasted a little while longer than the warranty. This guy has been trucking for 4+ years now for me. Gets used at least twice a month, sometimes a lot more than that.
Mine was the opposite experience. My 4 pistol ones lasted a long time. My cube one lasted 9 months.

Page 3 of the owner's manual: "Allow pump to cool for five (5) minutes after each five (5) minutes of continuous use."

Page 5 of the owner's manual: "Duty Cycle......5 minutes On/5 minutes Off"

Page 5 of the owner's manual: "The inflator is not designed for continuous use. For every five minutes of inflator use, five minutes of cool down time are required."

Oh, if only one would take the time to read the instructions, and avoid destruction.
