Sherlock on BBC One and PBS ++++Season four to air in January++++

Sherlock is a absolutely brilliant TV show from the BBC. The three episodes aired on BBC One in July/August and PBS in Oct/Nov of 2010. It did so well in fact that they are going to air three more 90 minute episodes in the fall of 2011. So if you have a chance, watch this show. It's really amazing, we're watching the last episode of season one right now.

Note: It's a modern day Sherlock Holmes and is set in London.

Says it will re-air Season 1 Episode 1: Study in Pink on January 15th on my local PBS channel. It seems Redmexx is correct.

not really. they don't care about the timing. its markets. look at movie distribution or more applicable top gear. only when there's a threat about money lost due to pirating they'll shorten the window between english premiere and us. this is obscure it enough they can easily hold off on showing it for months in the us market.

I am sure a more mature viewership would wait it out but they definitely lost me. I was going to watch it on Sunday but since they aren't airing it I am off to high seas. Pirate

they don't lose money. bbc is paid by taxes, and pbs is by donations/fed grants. its just idiotic reasoning of we'll make more money if we make them wait! they learned it with top gear. they've shortened up the windows considerably.

That's right, they don't get any ad $$$, now I feel totally guilt free (not that I was feeling much guilt laugh out loud).

I know BBC is government funded but BBC UK/America channels still makes money from ads, correct? But yeah makes sense to air TG asap here since it's such a huge show.

The current series has been a huge hit in the States but is currently shown on PBS.

It's grown on me and I enjoy it, wasn't hooked until episode three. However, the UK version is very different and much better. nod
