RETIRED: Target chit chat

If you've decided that you really do want to get the machine but don't want to spring for the cups, you can get the "my k-cup" reusable coffee filter attachment and grind and brew whatever coffee you want in it over and over again. This is a more economical way to do it, but it also involves more work insofar as you need to grind the coffee, fill the attachment to brew each single cup, and wash it out in between.

It's really quite nice but you probably won't want to use it as much once you get accustomed to the instant gratification you'll experience with the pre-packaged k-cups. If you still want to get it but want to spend less money long-term, you might want to just buy the machine, the "my k-kup" attachment and your usual coffee so you don't have to worry about splurging on the k-cups. The machine is also great for hot chocolate and tea. They sell k-cups for those but you may as well use the powdered hot chocolate or a tea bag with the hot water as they will still provide that instant fix.

Try not to feel bad about moving back in with your parents. Look at it this way...gives you a little more time to spend with them. As kids we can't wait to get out of their house, as adults we can appreciate their house.

As far as Christmas goes...I just lost my mom (June 17th) of this year. My dad died when I was 16. I won't have my parents this Christmas. It will be hard. I won't be thinking or remmbering what I ever gave them for Christmas. I will be remembering the memories of things said and done. Maybe you can make some hot cocoa, put into a thermos and take them out for a ride to look at Christmas lights. Together as a group, I am sure we can help you come up with something special to share with your parents.

I also read that the anodized layer can wear off over time and expose the aluminum....and at that point I wasn't completely unsold but I figured if I got SS they might not look pretty forever but I wouldn't have to worry about anything wearing off

I was soooo worried about food sticking to my stainless steel but it really doesn't all that much. I have done eggs in the skillets....I found those easier than doing something like french toast or grilled cheese. A little bit of sticking but not much. Isn't like it doesn't clean off.

I forgot to mention I did horrible on weight loss - basically gained back my 3 pounds I lost last week, so I'm bummed but I realize ita my own fault! I cheated off and all week, eating at olive garden and then all the filipino food yesterday and I caved and had cake. Why does cheating have to taste so good I defiantly feel guilty, I'm determined to do better this week!

tootsie, i got my cuisinart stainless steel set at macys.com... 17 pc set for about 170 shipped.they're heavy and fabulous. the regular price was about 700 bucks plus there was cashback to be had. has everything i would need. the only thing missing is a wok and a griddle - i'll be getting cast-iron ones for both.
just keep an eye out on macys sales, or set up a hot deals alert for macys. they have great sales each month with special coupons that apply.

would having an empty towel bar screwed into the wall right by the toilet help? so you could use it as a grab bar the moment you feel it coming on?

julie i got my knife block set at pfaltzgraff a couple of years ago. they have big sales every few months... it was a 200 dollar set, that i got for 50-something bucks shipped. mine's cuisinart or calphalon (can't remember which one, i get them confused. i think calphalon), all wood handles and the wood block, plus it came with a sharpening blade. works great.

the premier knives designed to last a lifetime are wusthof. they're also expensive. but you can find deals on ebay and on closeouts at cooking sites/williams-sonoma/crate and barrel.
i don't need the big name. i need dependability and sharpness. mine cut, and cut well and so i am happy.

$220 (what I paid through Amazon at the time) is a really, really low price for a higher-end set of SS pans. The bottoms being thick is not the only thing to look for and that is what you will get if you want to pay less. I wanted something that was tri-ply (like All-Clad is) and that, in addition to the only the bottoms being thick, had the thickness that went up the sides for more even heating and better cooking. I looked at a LOT of sets that were lower price and these were about the only thing I found for this price that had the higher-end features. It took me awhile to settle on the higher-priced ones but they are definitely better than the basic....I had one stand-alone SS piece that was lower-end and though it worked just OK these are definitely nicer and cook foods more evenly. But ever since I started SD'ing why is it that I always want to go for the cheapest thing first?!

The one thing I have really been looking at every time I go in Lowes is a gas stove. I have electric now and I HATE it. My water heater and heat are gas, so no problem converting the stove. This one particular stove has 5 burners, 2 on each side and an oblong one in the middle. The grate goes all across the top in two pieces and it has a cast iron griddle that fits in the middle over the oblong burner. Must Have This Stove.

ok now you guys definitely have me worried. i'm going to go research those pans again to make sure i am not inadvertently using teflon. thanks for the info! thankfully we only have 3 anodized pans/pots. so at worst those will go bye bye.

Glade rang up expired too. I honestly didn't even realize it expired yesterday so I was surprised...oops!

I don't have a Rite Aid or a CVS and Walgreens is an hour away. I do watch, though, because if Wags ever has it on a really good deal, I will definitely plan on making the trip and doing multiple transactions. Now, if you can ever get it free and want to sell me some cheap + postage, let me know.
We do a lot of cookie sheet stuff -- hot wings, chicken strips, fries -- that that little oven would be nice for.

I miss having a baby.. I was looking at pics today from when my toddler was just a few weeks old and I was kissing her.. I miss those squishy cheeks, the baby smell, and those little grunting noises.. And the way they stretch those little arms out and curl their back.. babies are the sweetest gift

Me too! lilB is 20 months and he is so big! He is losing that baby smell and I think he is starting to lose his baby breath I covered him in baby lotion after his bath tonight just so I could breath baby smells and snuggle.

I had the most craptastic run at Target tonight!!! I knew I should have stayed home. I had a headache and just knew I might screw something up, but I had to look for the big rugs for DDs room. She has been wanting on forever and last I saw there were 4 at 50%.

The rugs were gone of course. I forgot to price check my 14s and two of the toys were $10.49. I got max value on my BOGO which is $5.99 I think. Then I thought I gave all my Qs, well my total is $199.xx I thought it would be more like $60! Well I use up my GC figuring I will return some stuff later, I'm the last one out of the store. As I sit in my car I start looking at my reciept and realize my envi still have a bunch of Qs in it! How dumb can I beeeeeeeee! I didn't give the casheir all my Qs. I add them up and it is about $150.00 worth of Qs.

So then as I am almost home I am passing another Target and it is still open. The one I was at closes at 9pm but this one 10pm so I run in with my receipt and stack of coupons and he starts scanning away and says the register is not accepting most of them, it is saying "a coupon has already applied to this item" I can't see the screen so that is what he tells me it is saying. He accepts $37.50 worth of coupons and tells me I can come back tomorrow so they can figure it out.

I have only done missed coupons here and there and never had a register at CS reject a coupon before. Now the casheir that's another story, but not the register. He said maybe it was because it was so soon after purchase. ??? I don't know but I think I will just return some toys, I know $150 in Qs sounds like a lot but it was a few $10 and $5 toys coupons a few mohawk, RE, @home, finish, and $3 SB. I KNOW no other coupons were attached to those items! I still had the freaking coupons! I wonder what was REALLY up!

The CS guy kept pointing to the 5 or 6 coupons that were at the bottom of my reciept saying it must have been those ones. If they hadn't just closed I might have tried to show him which items those went with but ... whatever, I will just return. He was all like, yeah we can sort it out tomorrow since we are CLOSED now... !

I need the bashing my head on the wall smilie! I just knew !!!! That is what I get for going against my better judgement and going shopping any way should have stayed home for sure!

Awww!! I just realized that I do not want my kids to grow up... I told my dh today that I am going to miss just snuggling up with them watching disney shows, giving them kisses all the time... having them think I am the best person in the world like my 2 year old dd does... she won't let me out of her site... she is the sweetest...
