gt, hope the appt went well!

...And no need to go crazy-environmentalist on me...suffice it to say that I don't believe a lot of the save-our-planet type of stuff to be the truth. Even for .05 per bag @ T. I use mine rarely! And I don't mean to be rude to those that do - it's a preference, just stating that it does take longer....
we use the plastic bags for the small trashcans in the house - desk, bathroom etc and we also donate lots of plastic bags to the women's homeless shelter. believe it or not, plastic shopping bags are at a premium at shelters and they ration them out, because they have such a hard time getting them. so we collect the clean bags and then take a bunch over every few months.
that's my way of making sure I am not contributing more pointless, toxic plastic to the piles of national trash.

Quote from Dazzledby5 :
I am super OCD on how I like my things bagged. I hate that cashiers dont even think twice about putting a bottle of drain cleaner in the same bag as my bananas Mad ...
not sure if T does this, but at CVS, large grocery stores etc there is bagging training - food is always supposed to be separate from cleaning/toxic items. if you find this to be a repeated problem at T, ask to speak to a manager and let it be known. At CVS cashiers can be written up for bagging incorrectly.

juliebeans, i am so very sorry for the loss that you and your husband have endured. I hope tomorrow you can celebrate with joy and peace the strength and beauty of your bond and the complex journey you have traversed together.

So anyone with experience with amazon.com - I ordered a pair of Pampili shoes for my daughter, who is going to be a flower girl on Saturday. Got them today, and one of the little rhinestone pendant thingies has fallen off. She has to wear them Saturday because I have no other options but can I return them after that? I got them for $19.xx, and I totally heart them, but they're broken, you know? Is it easy to return to amazon.com, or not so much?
Quote from tootsie67 :
It's way easy to return with Amazon. They have decent customer service too though. It's worth a try to call them and explain the issue. They may be willing to express a new pair out overnight for the trouble. Never hurts to ask Wink
flug, as t67 mentioned, I would call amazon ASAP. they are incredibly customer friendly. specifically ask them to overnight a replacement pair to you explaining the circumstances. then send the damaged pair back unworn for a refund. if they don't have any more/can't send out one, get a supervisor to make a note that you will be returning the damaged shoes after use on saturday. or see if they will strike a compromise and refund you 50 - 75% or something, so she wears the shoes and gets done with it.

hug aww I didn't mean to make you cry... though I had to wipe away a few tears myself. Embarrassment A friend of mine lost her little boy on 9/1 and it made the memories so much worse this year for me.

We have some of the same diseases running in my family. Knock on wood, no current immediate family that has cancer. My mom has heart disease, has had several strokes and a few heart attacks. Lots of other issues there as well. Every female in my family over age 20 has hyperthyroid. My levels waver between a few points below the low end of normal to right at the bottom of normal range and my GP won't send me to an endocrinologist. Frown Have to have a referral.

My youngest sister has PCOS, no living children and now, probably won't (she's 35).

On a happy note, Happy Anniversary to you and your dh! woot

We have similar family histories. I have a blood clotting disorder & PCOS, mom has diabetes and a history of heart attack & multiple strokes. I fear ever having a family, I really do.

Okay, on a not so serious note. What the hell am I going to do with my 6 new rugs? laugh out loud

There are some doctors that definitely make you wonder how in the world they finished medical school. I had two different doctors, two different military hospitals, 5 years apart in timespan, ask me if I was sure that dh was the father of the baby I was carrying (while I was in there because I was miscarrying, idiots). Frown

No pregnancy innocence here either. I had two miscarriages and 3 years of infertility before having my oldest dd. I worried over every.single.little.thing, but how can we not?
My oldest was 8 when I had a miscarriage on Thanksgiving (yep, only one that was on a holiday), and 9 the next year when our daughter was stillborn. I was at a store returning some of the many baby items we had purchased and she started crying. When I asked what was wrong, she asked why babies have to die. Weeping It hurts me just as much that she won't have any pregnancies free of those worries. It's not a legacy I wanted to pass down. Frown

Hugs to the mommas that have lost a child, no matter the age or gestation. hug I will light my candle tomorrow (October 15th, pregnancy and infant loss awareness day) at 7 pm for all babies that are no longer with us. Oh heck, might as well start now.

:
hug I know just what you mean. I hope that God gives my girls better health and fertility than I had.

Your doctors sounded like idiots. WTH would a miscarriage have to do with the father of the baby?! Chairbash Morons.

That is an eerie coincidence for all of us to have lost on T-giving. Grouphug

I feel like we may be separated at birth - I have almost all of the above except the clotting disorder & diabetes. Mother & father have had many different cancers, grandparents all died of cancer on both sides and I've had it twice. One of which was thyroid cancer which still isn't in remission and stupid PCOS which compounded all my infertility issues. It's a blessing that any of us got any kids at all with all the crap that can (and did) go wrong.

Today's my anniversary and I spent it home alone with the kids. I made a yummy cauliflower & broccoli cheese soup though since it was cool out. It's gonna be cheese dip by the time DH gets out of the field but that's what he gets for postponing our date for tomorrow. LOL

For now, the rugs are stacked in my never-to-be-used bath tub in the master bath. We're shower people, and there is a separate, teeny stall shower. But with a 3 yr old that loves to help cook and bake, I toss out kitchen rugs frequently. Now I'm stocked for a little while. And still a few more days to use the coupon. laugh out loud

Four years! (I'm remarried-2 girls from previous marriage) We dated for 3 years before that (I almost kicked his non-committal butt to the curb TWICE lol). We got engaged in July and married in October. Had DS the next October and new baby finally on the way. We got our marriage license several weeks before or else I'd probably get confused on the date, too. LMAO

I just can't keep up but just a quick post ...

To all the mourning Mom's , I'm truly sorry for your losses.
I think we should name these babies names , and I will be lighting a candle with you all at 7 pm in remberance along with all of you , tomorrrow evening , I already have two names and would like to rememberr as many as I can by name if you care to post them . I won't name the second but leave that up to her Mom if she cares to share that . That would be a three dimensional candle, and I post a pic one if someone can tell me how to do that. I don't see a way to add an attachment.

I'll start with a name Samantha

I'm going to leave this stand alone and try to catch up on other posts

We didn't name any of the babies lost to miscarriage. Our daughter's name was Allison.

To post a picture I usually host the picture at photobucket.com and use the bulletin board link, pasted here.

HDDVDTV, I saw a coupon fairy had left a Glade IP coupon at the commissary today and I couldn't help but think of you and the problem with Smartsource. I know I won't leave any IP coupons anywhere, any longer.

dreeme, that was so very sweet of you to send flowers from TCC. With flowers and a washer, makes me wonder how you got a rep for being a meanie. hug

Ever wish that you didn't mess around on the computer too much (surf the net)

Tomorrow dh and I celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary.

I have had a hard life and even harder marriage, but thru the thick of it all we recently have become so much closer and happier than we ever thought we could be.

Love at first sight for him, me not so much, but we became close friends very, very fast. Dated for 6 mnths then married when he was in bootcamp. We wanted to stay together and travel the world.

Then I got cervical cancer, large chunk of cervix removed and was told to hurry and have babies befoer cancer came back. It was a rough time because dh was in a rough often deployed career. I had to go thru fertility treatments.

Got preggo. Had rough pregnancy, very, very scary. Dh got orders to Korea alone during my 7th mnth.

I was very ill but my doc(on military base refused to help get dh orders changed, said I was fine)

We traveled from Fl to Ca so I could stay with family and I started having complications on the road(we drove a rental truck with belongings cross country) We stopped at 3 emergency rooms along way because of major complications.

2 weeks into moving in and settling down in Ca, dh was packing to go to Korea and his family demanded we go drive 4 hrs to their house. I wasn't feeling well but was forced tp go,

In major pain along the way I begged to go home and lay down or go to er.Dh said no and then finally MIL said I was just worrying too much. I went straight to the room and cried.Baby stopped moving, but noone wanted to listen.

Made appt with OB because of my fears.

Delivered 28 week Stillborn on Thanksgiving.

I despise Thanksgiving Day and would rather not function that day because 12 yrs later it still hurts my heart badly.

2 yrs later,I almost lost my twins at 28 gestation in
fact we almost all died when I hemorhagged after ds placenta abrupted.Good thing though because his twin sisters
placenta was clotted to the point of my previous stillborn

( I have blood clot disorder) DD would have died that night had my son not did the crazy soumersault into the placenta abrupting thing

So here dh and I are with lots of drama from get go, even more horror stories from family issues and having special need twins(one has aspergers, the other brain damage and CP, both look/act normal but dh,myself and specialists have to work overtime with kids therapies. and I homeschool)

I am looking for things to do tomorrow, and I surf the net for local activities at the beach where we live in NW Fl

2nd time ever DH took leave from work for anniversary, So I want to go have fun

and I come across this:

October 15th is National pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day

http://www.october15th.com/

Frown

I am going to do my best to focus on my anniversary and celebrate the good in our life and marriage.
I am not going to shut down like I do every Thanksgiving, but I will light a candle at 7pm along with the "wave of light" across the world.

But dang ............. can't a girl catch a break every now and then???

setsail, I am sorry for not saying anything sooner regarding your stillborn and your hubby's reaction. I can relate to your pain and understand how it feels to want hubby to feel and acknowledge that day. My hubs would rather not celebrate turkey day , he feels as I that the "celebration" aspect is gone. But the fact that we have kids pushed us to have traditions and give them some sort of "holiday"
DD having Aspergers demand for traditional Turkey day. LOL. so we go thru the motions for her and my son and we get thru it.
But I can see the pain in hubs eyes. We have some things that we do,say and have in our house that require is to say our stillborns name daily, we did this so that he is always around (in mind and spirit). I didn't post for lack of words but because I wanted to say so much to you about, just you and wanting to comfort you. I am sorry I didn't step up.

It always helps when people step up on T-Day for me and I should have done same for you.
So sorry for your loss and ,hope things get a little easier for you .

Happy Anniversary !!!!!woot

:I My son (23) is just finishing up his Masters Degree (Public Administration) and he is trying to join the military. He has been jumping through hoops for a several months. He had a stroke when he was 8 and this is the hold up. So, after the last round of dr. exams (that he has to pay for), sending in reports, etc. he got the call Tuesday. He has been permanently disqualified from ever entering military service, medically based. He was really disappointed.

He called me yesterday... He had gotten another call from his recruiter, they were reading the old letter. That decision has been overturned and he is now approved to proceed with the enlistment process. So, next hurdle is the physical. (Not at all worried about the written tests).

Got a couple hours then I have to be ready to go get my hubby's head examined LMAO.... and his processor programmed.. All of them.
How wonderful for your hubby, I guess this is due to improved technology ?
