OK, I got another question for you food pros Big Grin, my oldest son has become aware of what he's furiously stuffing in his pie hole. Finally figured out that he doesn't eat healthy foods. I've been preaching it for years, but the coaches at school are starting in on the kids. He never believed me though. Anyway, he wants some healthy snacks. I don't mind cooking, but also am curious about what I can buy. I told him nuts were OK (I'm almost afraid to say that after the breast thingBig Grin). I'm trying to ease him into it, bc if it's too much of a change & if he feels like he's being deprived, he won't do it. IOW, I'm not going to go out & buy all fruits & veggies & tell him that's his alternatives. He's a really big kid (not at all fat, just big), so it's going to have to be substantial. I also mentioned that some cererals eaten dry are OK. We've done a bunch of bars & he's tired of those.
Any suggestions? And thanks!
couple days ago we were discussing healthy snacks in the diet support group. come back over and sit for awhile.

forgot how old your kids are. my nephew is a little over 2 and his mom gave us i think it was an earth's best cereal bar, white wrapper w/ an elmo on it when we took him out. i thought it was as hard as a rock so i broke it up into pieces. he loved it and gobbled it up. i should have tried a piece but didn't want to take food out of the mouths of babes Teehee

i think it was this one, looked like rice crispies-

Hi peoples! I was just a tiny bit naughty last night, but it could have been worse. I pressure cooked a roast for the beef and noodles and saved a big chunk for my supper. I did eat just a little bit of noodles -- and by a little bit, I mean a dozen or so noodles. Big, fat, chewy yummy.... Sorry, slipped away there for a minute. Anyway, I was a little bad but it could have been worse.
little bit naughty periodically is fine as long as you keep working at it. we all need to take a break every once in awhile.

all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.

anyway, just beef and no noodles would be boooring. beef is yummy, but just beef is tiring. you didn't happen to throw some carrots, turnip, parsnips or rutabaga in there did ya Evil? oh, and btw, i don't really recall eating parsnips or rutabaga ever either. not intentionally anyway.

Why do people get 3D ultrasounds now? I mean, is there a medical benefit or is it just to see the growth much more clearly? My son will be 24 on Sunday, and we didn't have all this fancy stuff. Had one ultrasound and we didn't even get the films back then, just saw dark image on the screen!

Oh Ariel, I saw your book post earlier and wanted to tell you that I got "Dark Fever" the first book in that series over the weekend. Glad you enjoyed it, it sounds good. I also got the first 4 books of "Vampire Academy". I almost feel like I'm repeating myself, but I don't think I mentioned these yet.

Have you heard of "The Uglies" series? I also got the first 4 books in that series. It's a YA futuristic series and sounded interesting.
Some ppl get 3D U/S for a medical benefit, but I am doing it just bc I want to. I did debate this, bc its kinda pricey, but its something that you can only get done at a certain time in life and you don't want to look back and regret it. Kinda like maternity pics. You may not want to pose when you feel HUGE and like a whale, but you only have a few short months to get those memories captured on film before the time has passed. I asked for this for as my Bday present from my family, so they are paying for part of it and J and I will cover the rest. Smilie

The fever series got better as it went! I will warn you MAJOR cliff hanger in between the 4th and final book. I had to wait a year and it SUCKED! Make sure you have the last one before you start the 4th! I often feel like I am repeating myself when it comes to books! laugh out loud

I have not heard of The Uglies, I will add it to the to read list! Thanks

Ank~ Sorry your still not feeling well, but I hope you find some answers at the dr on Monday! hug

ditto, series does get better after first book. i only kept going b/c i'd read some of her highlander series and basic premise and background is the same for both series. and there are a few references to characters from the highlander series. but the 2 series are extremely different. the highlander series is typical chest-thumping paranormal romance novels.

then i got stuck waiting for i think it's the 4th book to come out and never went back to the series. now i can't remember if i even read book 3 or not. so i'm gonna make a trip to the library and get my hands on 3, 4 and 5 and see where i left off. b/c of ariel, now i just have to finish it!

i'm pretty sure the first book was optioned for a movie. so another reason to read everything b4 the movie comes out.

Hello, all!! Ladies Bible study this morning, now relaxing at home before we have to pick up Jaden from school. Cleaned a little in the kitchen, now sipping my coffee, and I cheated and ate a slice of toasted homemade cinnamon bread. Oh man, it was SO yummy!! Why in the world I baked it yesterday, knowing I'm trying to lose weight, I have no idea!

The place I am going to ranges from $75 - $175 depending on the package you are getting. I was able to get their prices right on their website. I went to them when I was preggo with Soph and I LOVED them! Last time I did the middle package, and they were only supposed to do a 30 minute session, but they spent almost an hour with us! We got the pics on CD and everything. This time we are springing for the longer session and the DVD of the whole thing. I hope its as pleasant this time as it was last time!
Another thing I love about this place, was I brought TONS of family with me (like at least 10 ppl) and they were ok with that and had room for all of them in the comfy room. It was a nice experience.

Finally caught up to you all.
Didn't quote, but this is what I remember to say!
DH is in Chicago this week. He didn't call last night, must be frozen to a light pole somewhere. We only got a dusting of snow, but gosh darnit, my blood must have thinned since moving from ND. Was very cold at night, and the dog wouldn't snuggle to keep me warm. She is always on high alert at night when DH travels.
Teri- glad to hear everything is better. We painted the boys' room Bagel before we moved, oldest liked it so much, we painted his room here that color!
GT, haven't been to Portage Lake, but my family has a lake cabin on the southern most point of Big Sandy Lake. Fishing is so-so, but there are many little lakes in the area as well. I bet I could get my Dad to meet you and take you fishing, he jumps at the chance to go with anyone!
