ok, it's incredibly late and i have to go to sleep. so i can tell gg about my trip to whole foods tomorrow.
yep, remember the novella i posted in a chat with kay 12 early in the week? short recap:
priorotizing organic purchases, YOU WANT TO BUY ORGANIC:
all thin-skinned fruits and veggies
all root veggies
all leafy veggies/herbs/greens
reason: much higher pesticide usage/exposure/absorption for all of the above.
organic potatoes are about 3.99-4.99 a 5lb bag depending on the store - whole foods, trader joes, stop and stop, other supermarket chain. avail in russet, golden, red, and a bunch of other varieties.
organic onions, similar pricin for a big bag. don't know how much it weighs but has lots of big sized onions. same pricing generally for red or golden yellow or white onions.
org sweet potatoes come in bags of about 6-8. 2.99-3.99 depending on store generally.
i don't know what the comparative prices are for conventionally grown because it has been so long since i bought conventional. but for us, given the amount you get for the price, and the much bolder flavor, plus the big health advantage, the price is perfectly acceptable.

Well - you could make a small batch for yourself - though, if you are a veggie fiend like me, a large batch wouldn't be a bad thing! I can eat a ton of this stuff allllll by my lonesome.
Oh yeah - if you like sweet potatoes, you could do mashed sweet potatoes and parsnips with a little brown sugar or maple syrup and butter...

doc visit for me: ordered addt'l imaging. mri next week. was ticked off that ER had not referred me for a folo with a trauma specialist. said i needed that. said i also should have had someone doing folo up on abdomen and chest injuries. was disatisfied with PCP and asked me to see addtn'l docs. was displeased that i am still in pain without help.
but bottomline: inconclusive right now. awaiting more tests. and have to find more doctors to go to. how much do i want to do that? not at all. but will have to. sigh.

dunno how much he will do. he does knee and shoulder only. so his thing was - you need more help. but the ball is back in my court to go hunting for help.
our medical system is so broken, it is not even funny.
As for our system - that sad thing is that I think it could be a lot worse.
I think I may try going back to bed -Mavis seems sleepy enough now. Hope her congestion lets her sleep a little.
DH has a fever and has chills. He keeps turning up the heat, so I have to keep going behind him and turning it down. He'll heat us out of the house at the rate he's going! I gave him some tylenol pm, so hopefully that will have him snoozing for a bit.

Headed out to WF (did you read that gg?) and then maybe T and then we're going to tour a few homes by a builder that DH met with and liked. It's rainy and gross here and I'm already ready for a nap.
I am planning nothing today. Keep kids from doing something to hurt themselves and goof off. That's my big plans. I thought of shopping, but I have chicken in the fridge. I'm not going anywhere.
