separate note to all: i've decided to take an SD break. at least for a while. maybe longer. figure i can't do any deals right now, so there's not much point in reading up on them and feeling disappointed. i'll try to pop in occasionally to say hello, i promise.
i hold each of you in my prayers and wish big magical happy things for you. thank you for all you have taught me and shared with me and for all your support, prayers and virtual love. it means a lot!
Hope you all get better soon from this sickness.. it has been too long.. and lots of cleaning too :-(
I let him goin the store about 7 aisles is as far but in emergencies he has taken the littler one to the bathroom, but the one by the pharm not by the doors.
In my case, our doctor said so, coz i was doing pickup, drop off for my DS#1 to school...Moms have something to worry about always..She says i need to 'chill out'

*snip*
. Looking forward to 8-10 more months of fuss.
They put her on Prevacid last week - can't tell if it's helping or not. I'm not convinced she has reflux.
I feel ya on the long days with a cranky baby
Six o'clock is Arsenic Hour at our house....you either want to give it or take it.
My DS#2 had severe acid reflux, ALWAYS projectile vomiting..Pediatrician initially thought he had pyloric stenosis, when he was 2-3 weeks olds.. after a series of tests, confirmed that he had acid reflux..
Started with zantac, went to prevacid..and atlast he was getting ok when he started to sit up (around 7 months) and completely out of reflux by 8.1/2 months when he started to walk..[yeah, you are reading it right @eighth month
We call it whine o'clock. They give the whine, I drink the wine.
Prayers this way for Trevor, 5 matches were contacted to donate bone marrow, hoping someone steps up!
I am going thro' the penniless parenting..it is nice one, whomoever recommended it, thankyou.. it keeps me up and wondering if i want to make my own laundry detergent, soaps, vegetable seitan etc...

I would be interested in hearing about marnatha too, i have printed those coupons and waiting to buy some almond butter, preferable chocolate flavored since my DS#1 loved them, i will sneak saying those are 'nutella' - i dont buy nutella, all ingre not so good
this wk organic russet potatoes are on sale for 2.99 for 5lb bag at shoprite. still double the price of conventional, but i feel like having roasted potatoes this wk and i think that's probably as low as i'm gonna get. thank you gg for posting prices at whole foods so i can compare. store brand organic grape tomatoes are 2.00ac, while conventional are 3/5.00 so that is very reasonable, just a little more. store brand organic chamomile, earl grey, green or mint tea is 1.99ac which is same price as regular tea on sale or very close, so i will try that. anybody ever try pacific foods chicken or cream of mushroom soup? it's .99ac. hmmm, i will need to get bff's coupons b/c they are limit one per family and they only come in the flier that is mailed to your house.
thanks for the kashi coupon offer, i will pass this time b/c i don't eat cold cereal for breakfast during the winter. what i will end up doing is eating it dry for midnite snack and i'm trying to break that really bad habit.
as for yoghurt, i buy it for calcium and good bacteria, but i don't eat it on a regular basis. i buy it when it's cheap and basically force myself to eat it b/c they are going to expire
also if you are not picky, imagine also has organic low sodium veg broth (and chicken, beef etc). imagine is part of hain celestial group (they have a ton of different organic labels). so on items from spectrum, arrowhead, imagine, and others you will find a 3/3 peelie. peelie always beeps (WF stores are accustomed to that. uber fine print of peelie says $10 purchase but it beeps on more or less). anyways, WF generally has store qs for 1/2 or 2/3 on imagine products. they come around every few months. so you can combine for a good deal.
kashi... we like some of the TLC bars. we also really like the kashi organic cereal. i personally especially like the vanilla one [kashi.com].
the kashi frozen pizzas are decent and a few of the frozen entrees are seriously yummy. but i don't buy frozen foods anymore and especially not things in plastic trays. we used to eat em a lot once upon a time. if you do look into getting em, check somewhere other than WF. regular grocery stores generally have far better kashi sales than WF. my best deal on kashi cereal was at T by the way = free. also bars were free at SNS at a sale. so it's something to look for.
as for WF sales flier... you can get it online. just enter zip, select store from list and the flier is avail as a pdf. in addt'n different stores advertise their weekend special sales as well as their special weekly events differently. some prefer twitter, some facebook. most have the feed window on their homepage so you can look there.
produce... produce at WF sells fast. especially when you go in the evening, they're replenishing stock etc. make friends with your produce guys. they'll tell you when the truck comes and even tell you which things have been ordered on which truck. also if there are special things you like, talk to the produce manager about whether they do/can order. it really is like a neighborhood market.
holler anytime with any other questions about WF. one tip: that place is like a ship of sunken treasure. so best bet is on each trip, slowly peruse 2-3 aisles of boxed goods, making mental notes of things you'd be interested in if they had sales. once you have the store covered like that, you'll know the things of interest to you and can instantly spot the sales on future trips. otherwise shopping there will take forever cos everything looks and sounds yummy. also, i like combing the hot and cold food bar areas cos i always get ideas for fresh healthy sides and entrees.
separate note to all: i've decided to take an SD break. at least for a while. maybe longer. figure i can't do any deals right now, so there's not much point in reading up on them and feeling disappointed. i'll try to pop in occasionally to say hello, i promise.

:blowkiss to all!
i never saw the vanilla kashi cereal at target. online somebody said the most consistent store was walmart, ugh! oh yeah, went to walmart last wk to pick up antibacterial solution for the whole house humidifier, so cheap there, and they also did a kind of p-fresh thing. they are copying target! i saw bananas and oranges there for the first time. i took a quick glance at the dairy cases and things like tropicana oj seemed pretty expensive.
back to cereal. have a funny story. i forget the name of the kashi i gave a sample to bff to try has hearts and o's, she said it tasted ok but looked like dog food
i also don't buy much frozen foods and had never bought frozen entrees until last yr when shoprite had some smart ones deal that came out to pennies an entree. so i bought a bunch to try. but i wasn't impressed w/ how skimpy they were w/ the veggies which you all know is important to me to eat so not buying them anymore. i did once buy the kashi frozen entrees at costco a really long time ago to try and i didn't like them. i'd rather just try to cook fresh if at all possible.
i used to see the wkly specials in the newsletter every wk and i was never impressed. then they changed the format of the newsletter and i just see the recipes now. i just checked my store flier w/ a couple other stores and still not impressed. maybe i just have a bad whole foods. will have to check out trader joes this wk. ooh, i remember what i wanted from them, tetra pack tomato sauce.
what i do love at whole foods are the seafood bisques and chowders which i have for dinner when not eating w/ dh
get well soon so you can have fun doing the deals again!
The Goodlife coupon?
when i was in college, i used to walk 1/2 hr to my part time job b/c it was literally faster than taking the bus sometimes
And yeah, in DC, there are definitely times it takes over an hour to drive 6 blocks. One day we made the mistake of going to the Smithsonian on a weekday and didn't leave until 5 pm.
rachael, forgot to mention this before. My oldest had colic and it was awful. When she was about 5 months old, it just suddenly stopped.

Recuperating from all the partying yesterday
I am so out of the loop. Target, I know I need to get back into it. My new job transferred, the one I didn't ask for....since my old store closed. I am at the moment making LESS than my previous store. Commission versus hourly.
At least the new store gives me loads of hours. But I have had less time trying to read, do deals. Now I know that hello world. I have two months to get stuff in order. Otherwise I will have the savings account drained. Sucks but that is the way life is.
What else....Packers won!!! That means my new store opened up at 6 this morning. Other than that if I am good and say hi to y'all maybe I can get into Target within the next two weeks. I mean shop it like before.
Ank...Sorry to hear about your grandma..
Thrifth.....congrats on a new little one on the way.
TN....Do you know about any energizer coupons...Hearing aid batteries are looking to be a good price at Wags this week. Buy one get Free and if there is any coupons out there.Life will be good,
Bunnies...don't bite me.
That is all for now.
Add some more broth -- store bought stuff in the can or box is fine. You just have to cook way to too much meat to get enough broth. If I cook a roast for enchiladas or something like that, I always use extra water to make more broth and freeze it for the next time I make noodles. I used more boxed broth this last time and it was fine -- I think I will be using all store broth from now on. We really don't want any (or much) meat in ours.
Alright. Now you need a big pan. Something with more surface area is better than say a stock pot but anything will work. I use a granite roaster with a lid. Your broth will need to be at a hard boil.
This will make a pretty big batch, definitely enough to feed a family... unless you are the Duggars.
Noodles -- start with a dozen eggs in a big bowl. I use my large mixer bowl. Whip them up, fork is fine you just need to blend the whites and yolks. Add flour until it's noodles.
Now flour up your cutting board. Wood works best, smooth glass is fine, plastic has to much texture usually. Never used one, but I think those silicon mats would be fine. Throw another cup of flour down and spread it around. Flour a rolling pin and your hands. Grab a glob of dough (I roll about a third or fourth at a time). Pat it out on your cutting board, flip and reflour the cutting board and your the dough. Just pick up what you threw down and use it. Then roll it out to about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. If you don't have a rolling pin, just pat them out as evenly as you can. I'll work.
I use a pizza cutter to cut the noddles. Rolling it one way to get the width, then usually across once or twice for length. We like fat, chewy noodles so I cut them a little less than 1/2 inch or so wide then anywhere from 4" to 6" long. It's noodles, not brain surgery, just cut.
A lot of times I will roll one batch and then drop it in the broth then roll the next - saves moving them twice. Or you can toss them off your cutting board -- just onto the counter -- and get them all cut first. Either way, your broth needs to be at a hard boil. Drop your noddles one at a time. Once it starts getting full, I just push them aside with a spoon to give me a little dropping spot. If the broth stops boiling, just put the lid on and let it come back up.
They will be fully cooked in 10 or 15 minutes. I like to get them made and the mess cleaned up then just let them simmer for a while. If you want to do it early and let them sit for a several hours, a crock pot or roaster on low will work or you can just shove them in the oven on low. You can leave them on the stove top at the lowest setting but if it's a really full pan you need to watch so they don't stick.
Now sweep the floor and change your shirt.
With a dozen eggs you will use close to a 5# bag of flour. If you just want enough for one meal for two adults and small kid or two try a half dozen eggs. You can always make another batch of noddles if you think it isn't enough. They will also heat up well. You may need to add a little more broth.
Speaking of... I am out of toilet paper, dog food
If you still need Similac Coupons, Plz PM me so i can send them out to you.

$1/1 Energizer Batteries or Flashlight - 01-02-11 SS
Walgreen's Magazine Diabetes and You $2/1 Energizer EZ Change Hearing Aid Batteries
I'm still stocked (ie, I still haven't opened ANY) from the wags peelie sale they had... in Sept or August maybe?
Sam's has the battery for the left ear (13) but they don't carry the one for the right ear (312). Sam's is where I used to buy them all the time, and I'm still using batteries bought from Sam's for the left one.
