So we had a good anniversary weekend. I'm still a little bummed that we didn't end up getting to go anywhere exciting, but I'll get over it, especially if things work out with the little bean. We were going to go to Las Vegas so I was watching tickets to plan a trip and then once we found out I was pregnant decided maybe I shouldn't fly with my history and also we thought maybe we should save the money for medical bills & when I'm not working. Anyway, we had a relaxing weekend in Omaha instead. Saw a movie, did some shopping and saw some friends that lived there. Our hotel was great - a Marriott I got on name your own prince on Priceline. Yesterday was fabulous weather so we got our garden all cleaned out and ready for planting. It was so nice to spend some time outside with the kids!

Been working on diaper cakes for decorations for a friend's baby shower this coming Sunday. Almost finished, just have to make bows for 4 more of them. Maybe I'll attach a picture..............
Diaper cakes are very pretty! Glad you enjoyed your weekend. It's nice to just do something different even if it's not a huge trip. Helps clear out the cobwebs in your brain!

Ugg. This is going to be a relly sucky week! Df is officially done with wiork on Wed, and Hes so stressed out. I was doing fine, until he flipped out last night on spending $5 on a raffle ticket from the neighbor kid. Now im really stressed. I keep track of all the finances, and when i sat down and looked at it it seemed to me we were only going to be $100 short a month (which can be taken from savings for a while) and thats not including any unemployment he gets. But now im starting to worry i forgot something or he knows something I dont (he says no). Saturday wont be here fast enough, I just want to go back to bed.

Yeah at the oscars entrance. If it werent for that egg i wouldnt have known who she was. And i definatly havent heard of pitbull before. I need an under a rock smileylaugh out loud

oo and it's snowing!!! Hide
Snowing!!!!! That's a dirty word around here these days...it's 78 degrees here and I'm headed out to weed the flower beds! I did a lot yesterday. Got a sticker in my pinky and it's TINY but is so sore! How can something that little hurt so much? I've dug and dug on it & can't get it out. DH tried, too (with me acting like a baby the whole time)...OUCH!

Yeah, the shower thing was an akward situation that turned out great! My MIL kept insisting on throwing me one, even though I wasn't sure I wanted one. Then at my SIL shower, she made a big 'to do' about how she was throwing me a shower, so I felt that I had to let her. I thought it was gonna be a damned if you do, damned if you don't kinda situation (my MIL always stresses about these kinda things, so I didn't want to put more stress on her), but it didn't turn out that way at all. She didn't seemed stressed, and I had a great time getting together with some friends and family. heart I got a lot of clothing! laugh out loud And then some of the things off my registry. My step MIL and FIL weren't able to make it, so they came over last night and dropped off their gifts last night. They got us the jumperoo and the temporal thermometer we wanted. heart I am truly feeling blessed lately! I have some pics up on FB from the shower! nod

I stock up on the Coffee Mate creamers, I just throw them in the freezer and they freeze fine. When I want to thaw, I just stick them in the fridge.

Bean is 8 weeks today..........seems like an eternity already because of my nervousness with it all...........I can hardly think of 32 more weeks of this! Of course hopefully after 13 or 14 I will hopefully be a little more at ease. And yes, one will do! I have another appt. on Wednesday afternoon so hopefully things will go well that day and I will be a little less worried about it for a day or two anyway. Thanks for asking!

I am good on diapers but thanks for the offer. Thanks for the compliments!
Wondering about K too...........

Thanks! Glad everyone approves of the diaper cakes, hopefully the mommy to be and guests will like them as well!

Didn't know you were having a shower, how fun! Glad J was a star daddy helping out with the kids! What goodies did you get???? Do tell!!!
Yeah for bean! wootwoot You just have to take one step at a time- you've seen the hb, which is a huge step, then if you can get through the next few weeks to the second trimester, the risk of mc plummets, then to the next week, and the next. Thinking of you, and we'll be here every step of the way!

So sorry you've got it now...hope it goes away quickly!
I googled baby watermelon bikini and haven't come up with one as cute as that...If it's out there, we'll find it!
Thank you! Every girl needs a cute bikini, right? Wink

Is there a Babies R Us or Toys R Us thread here on SD? I'm about to buy my new Great Nephew's baby shower gift, but Bigeye over $300. Wondering if a 10% (20%, 30%) off code is available.

His mom just called and they should be here in about 15 minutes...as soon as I said that to him, he wanted to know if he could eat before he goes home...makes me wonder? So, now he is having a snack as we will eat supper later. I will have to keep tabs on him.
This sounds alot like my childhood- mom was never on time, never reliable, and there was never food in the house. I relied alot on the kindness of my friends' families, all the way from childhood to teenage years. It really meant so much to me to be invited to stay for a snack or dinner. Keep a special eye out for this kid- what you give him may be the only meal he'll eat that night, and he'll remember your kindness for years. heart

So DS had his first soccer game today. We took some portrait pictures of him in his uniform in the backyard. These are my favorite. One of him and one of DD waiting for me to finish. I got to break out my big telephoto lens for the game. Haven't used that sucker in years. Oh, and I totally need to take a class on taking pics in bright, harsh sunlight. Does anyone have any tips on that? It is the one thing I struggle with all the time. I took a ton of beach pics yesterday and some are pretty good and some are crap. Damn sun.

Nice idea. His is an open house though. People come and go at will. I am sure whatever we do will be fine and people will talk but I figure the people that come are going to know DS and not be surprised except for DH family. They will probably talk but I am sure they do anyways Big Grin They are way more sophisticated that we are. laugh out loud
(they truely are but I know that isn't what is important in life. )
They can only talk smack if they are footing the bill. They are there to celebrate a wedding, not for the free meal, right? Heck, I'm all for someone else making me food, no matter what it is! Wink

I forgot to mention it here, but J was a sweetheart at the baby shower. He came along (even though it was all women) to help with Sophia. She wanted to go, but I didn't want the challenge of keeping her entertained during it all. Well other kids showed up too (another 4 yo, a 5 yo, and a 19 month old) and he was amazing with all of them! Even fed the 19 month old her snack of yogurt, so that my friend could be a part of the party! heart I need to do something for him to let him know how much I appreciate him!
I'm sure you can think of something. Evil

I just throw it right in the freezer and then when I have 1-2 days worth of creamer left I pop one in the fridge so it will thaw before I need it. Never had a problem at all.

For some reason they think I'm the national bank of tn. My SIL called 2 nights ago and asked if I would buy THE particular breast pump in her DIL's registry and all the pieces that go with it. I don't mind buying it, but I'd rather have bought the baby bed, or the stroller, or a pair of pack 'n plays as with the first child, what happens if she gives up on breast feeding? All that $$ down the drain.

BRUs has a free shipping deal, but I could have gotten that by just dropping by the store 4 miles away.
