I just don't see this boding well for couponers in general. The stores featured in programs like this are going to crack down, especially if fraud is found.

So don't freak out and assume you need to go nuts. Yes, do all the pillows and blankets the kid comes into contact with and it isn't going to hurt anything to bag up the stuffed toys even though they are probably not infested. Heck, if she doesn't miss them, then you can just get rid of the whole bag. Do coats and hats too.
Just check heads and continue to do so ever few days for 2 - 3 weeks.
Due to a coordinated effort by Jill Cataldo http://jillcataldo.com/ (and her couponing fan base) to attack me and my FB page I am going to turn off comments for the time being. My REAL friends and fans want to read what I have to say without all the noise. I will be addressing concerns in a blog post... and that will be the end of it.
Edit: Nothing too interesting in the comments, I guess. Same old stuff. The Krazy Coupon Lady [urlhasbeenblocked.com] (who at one point attempted to defend her, sort of) speaks about her on her blog too.
I haven't, but I rarely have the tv on. I might watch a few things at night but the tv isn't ever on during the day. I guess I'm just a little surprised at the news being all over about Target's coupons not deducting right and there is a story about a big fancy TV network showing all there crazy couponers and one of them is being accused of theft and we hear nothing. I would expect TLC to keep their mouth shut and their head down but I a surprised some John Stossel like news person isn't investigating this. WHY THE HELL NOT???

I think this is CRAZY! I now have "normal" friends on FB posting how they are going to try shopping the extreme coupon way! Totally frustrating! Don't ruin my stores! Even though I have NOT been shopping with coupons I will eventually get back in the game.

GS is going well. Only 2 people have asked about extreme couponing.
now dh uses kayak to research and then goes to the airline website directly. i think sometimes it can be a little cheaper b/c no fees.
you should have a timer. what i'll do is put the load in at nite and set the timer to have the load finished when i wake up. then i just put it in the dryer and put a new load in b4 i do anything else in the morning.
when you move, i would recommend getting the largest capacity. i think they are up to 5cu. ft. i bought a bosch when my maytag that put the company out of business died. i wish i could somehow trade it in for a samsung w/ anti-vibration technology. the bosch shakes the house so i always lower the spin speed. i was too lazy to buy anti-vibration pads and then i read that they don't work. you won't have a problem w/ vibration if the washer is on slab. my neighbor bought an LG and said it walked like crazy until he threw some switch and no problems now. i haven't read in a few yrs since i bought mine, but samsung was recommended if you were putting a washer on the second floor.
j'aime is going to be the death of couponers. if mfrs get wind and take a good hard look, there will be a whole lotta dnd 9's and much lower values going forward. the stores don't care so much as long as they get reimbursed. the only way they really get caught is when they get audited and they don't even sell the product like target and the 3.00 q for hp paper. it's the mfr that would really care b/c they are losing money by reimbursing for the wrong product they didn't make any profit on or not the product they are promoting.
all those people that defend her are so short-sighted. i think many of you know smegs. she's been around a long time. she recently started doing deals at my supermarket. i think it was 2 wks ago her bogo got turned down
i think i'm actually lucky the stores here are so strict so we do not have extreme couponers, shelf clearers and people returning carts of stuff to make money. it's not that people don't use coupons, they do. i just never, ever have to deal w/ any of the attitude that others have. the only problem is when the cashier is poorly trained or untrained and doesn't know what to do and doesn't understand what's going on. hit that k1 button already!

I feel sick. We have had fever, sore throat and general acky running through the house for the last 4 days, now I am thinking mama is getting it. I keep telling myself..no one is throwing up so, I can deal if I come down with the fever and sore throat. No biggie.
Hope everyone is well. I am 2 pages behind, no time to catch up at the moment. Plus I am sleep deprived. I would give anything just to have one night where I could get 8 hours of sleep.

My niece, who is 3yo, came into close, prolonged contact with at least 10-12 people, with 4 of them being cousins close to her in age, and not one of us got it from her.

somebody has to inform the mfrs, their legal teams have to investigate and then they may not do anything to her personally but they'll just cut down or discontinue some coupon promos. the legal fees may not be worth it unless they want to make an example of her. she may only get tarred and feathered by public opinion but she has to have done enough $ worth to bring it above a misdemeanor for it to be worth it. what's the limit for grand larceny in MD? hmmm- http://wiki.answers.co
what was her total and how much was illegit?
her target runs were only misdemeanors so probably not enough to get the corporate lawyers interested.
many mfrs and retailers may also be just waiting for the gs1 databar sunrise on july 1st. they will have spent millions of dollars on it. although i understand from that article i posted several months ago that that retailers can choose not to read certain sections of the databar just like target doesn't right now.
Key Points
* GS1 Company Prefixes. The existing structure only allows companies with a 6-digit prefix the ability to coupon. The new format can accommodate variable length prefixes.
* Coupon value codes can now be in any amount up to $999.99, and the are not limited to a table of only 100 possibilities.
* Precise offer descriptions and validation of offers involving specified quantity purchases can now be expressed.
* Fraud reduction due to complexity of description and save values. Also, the entire bar code encoded data is not presented in human readable format.
* Automatic expiration date checking for retailers.
i think the 3rd part is silly. just because it's not in human readable format doesn't mean somebody won't have a scanner and not be able to decode it. duh!!! iphones and androids can scan barcodes right now. somebody will sit there and decode them all and publish a list of all the values on the internet eventually. anyone who can scan them will be able to decipher them instead of going by the numbers underneath the barcode right now.
I have been *this* close to a nervous breakdown all farking day. I started sobbing on the way to soccer tonight. I'm just totally stressed out and I feel like there are 1 million things going on all at the same time. And I totally know that I should shut my pie hole because there are people with real problems out there, but that doesn't help pack my house any faster! I'm having a tasty beverage to settle my nerves!

We had a similar scare back in January and I read a lot on the internet about it. Basically, not to get gross or anything, but the lice live on hair. If they somehow came off the hair shaft and landed on anything else, such as sheets, stuffed animals, etc., their shelf life is very short. Also, its actually very difficult to catch lice from someone else. It literally requires a prolonged contact, with hair touching, between the two people, for the lice to make their way from one head to another. Beyond what you're doing, the only other thing is to comb through her hair every day for the next 2-3 weeks, because that's how long the eggs can take to hatch.
