I have been coming to Slickdeals for a long time...

Just recently I have begun frequenting this section of Slickdeals. I am a member of other boards relating to couponing also, and I have received nothing but welcome from these other boards. From reading these threads here at Slickdeals in this section daily for the the past several weeks, I am frankly afraid to post.

There seems to be a small group of people here that act like it is a crime if you don't know which thread to post in, the proper couponing etiquette, ask a question that may have been answered somewhere else, and basically anything they don't care for.

I have found quite a few awesome deals that I want to post and share here, but rarely do because of the behavior exhibited in these threads. Just food for thought. Try to remember you were once a newbie at this, and take care when you think about jumping down someone's throat.

Okay, give me a minute to compose it properly.
It's like dynamite and could easily blow up in my face.
I need to remember how to properly extract the part describing my package as a gift or when I opened it, it was a gift....or, damn it.......now I'm confused.

I too have been a member here for a long time. Depending on how busy my life is, makes a difference on how often I visit. I think some of the issues you mention come from different expectations from one user to the next. Some users don't have an hour or three to spend scanning slickdeals each day. Some users spend hours in a forum section EVERY day. Sure there are wiki's, updates and search features, but there is such a thing as information overload and it can be overwhelming. I too lurk for the most part these days as I've observed how this website has changed. I contribute a little whenever I can and if I feel the urge. Often times I keep the deals and information I gather to myself. I guess my comment to you is, "You are not alone in your feelings."

same goes for me. when i'm on here, i tend to mod alerts, private messages and other sd business so spending all my time (in a mega/master thread) trying to find an answer or whatnot is not feasible if i know i can get a quicker answer.

to me...if you know the answer, then reply. if you don't, ignore it. if i get the answer, great. if i don't, i won't lose sleep. it's those who choose to reply with snarkiness that stirs the pot, not the one who asked.
