Ok, I just got a weird call from my sis. My parents' garage burned down a couple of weeks ago. To the ground, no cause found. They had to buy a new (used) car to replace their nice, burnt truck.
Yesterday my dad takes the car to go to store and discovers their outside dog Blackie, killed and stuffed beneath the front seat, he had been there long enough for maggots and smell, so much it will have to be totaled.
My folks are the nicest people ever, living their retirement in small town, no problems ever. WTH!!! I'm in shock! Suspect crazy ex sis-in-law though she's been out of family 20 years!!! They got robbed when they first moved there and they always suspected her...crazy. This stuff doesn't happen to people like me and mine!!

Theyve suspected Lupus for years and I have to exfoliate and moisturize my face daily or it gets flakey and I did have Lymes disease when I was trapsing all over the mountains around Seattle in the 80's (stupid ticks!) but theyve also thought it was reumalogical too. With a diagnosis they can treat it!!!!
On the plus side its not the veinous insufficiency (told them as much) but it took my kideys failing to finally get somewhere. Maybe now I can finally get rid of the pain and other symptoms so I feel really good about it

It's a good thing your reg doc was out! Now it sounds like they can get somewhere with a diagnosis and treatment, I hope so! Don't know a thing about lupus, but if it's treatable that's great!

After 20 years of Drs "guessing" what is wrong with me and the ones that feel it is possibly an auto immune response I finally got an out of state DR ( from Cali) to give me the closest thing to a diagnoses I have had. ALL my symptoms hit at once and he ran kidney and liver tests and the numbers were off the charts!!!! Most Auto immune disorders like Lupus and Lyme and MS only show up during a flare up. My usual Dr told me I had veinous insuffuciencey and ordered old lady stockings and water pills. I went in on her day off and got the new guy. I told him the water pills dont work even when I doubled them and he got worried. I told him drinking a pot of extra strong coffee worked alot better so thats why he ordered the kidney tests and they found trouble. I go next Monday to find out what the tests results mean.

I hope you finally get the treatment that you need. I know firsthand the frustration and suffering you can go through when you are misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all. Both my wife and I have been through this(seperate problems) and had just about given up on the medical establishment. We both ended up going to Rochester to specialists at Mayo.
