Last December I was looking for new everyday glasses. I finally found the ones I wanted at a nice department store. There were 24 in the box (3 sizes), but there wasn't a price on the box. When I took it to the register for a price check, the cashier said they were one ninety nine. My husband exclaimed 199 dollars! She said no, $1.99. I quickly said, we'll take them. Had to be a computer error. That purchase still makes me feel good.

I don't know if it's just southern California or the times but the stuff the kids do now was nothing like it was when I was growing up
Our house was always open to my friends but none ever stayed more than a day, everyone always went home
now kids go out and go home when they feel like it
this has been going on since my son was about 10 or 11
one kid begged me to adopt him he couldn't get it that he had parents and I couldn't, he stayed here weeks at a time
he's now graduating college and headed for law school
he still comes and stays when he's in town
I can't count how many times strays called me in the middle of the night for a ride
girls were the worst

why were 13-14 year old girls out at that hour
simple their parents didn't care or they're stupid
then there were the girls that got dumped in the park because they were too drunk and no one wanted to deal with them. had to go get those 2 a number of times
I used to refer to them as my foster family
I think that would be perfect
