So Jealous in landlocked Midwest. For all the leftover bits and scraps:

SEAFOOD ON TOAST
2 TBS Butter
2 TBS Flour
1 TBS Dijon Mustard
1/8 TSP Paprika, Nutmeg, Cayenne Pepper, and Salt
1.5 Cups Half and Half
1/8 Cup Dry Sherry
1 Cup Crabmeat (or Shrimp or Lobster or a mix)

Melt butter in saucepan, add flour, making a roux. Cook stirring 2 min. Add mustard and spices. Slowly add half and half. Cook stirring until thickened. Add sherry and seafood. Heat through. Spoon over toast, prebaked patty shells or even waffles

Remember the neat crackers and splitter I got from Steamy Kitchens to clean and open the crabs? 1st time I used them and they are really great. The reverse scissor-type thing slides into the claws, even the little claws (1st time I ever was able to use the little claws too because these crabs were huge) and pushes them apart without cutting myself. The cracker is the very best and strongest and came with really long picks double sided at the end. but not one cut on me. Oh, you cannot keep females if they have eggs, but all mine today were nasty mean males. You can keep males over 4 1/2 in. but mine were nearly 7. wave

When my son was 4 and we used to go crabbing we had a 100 gallon aquarium. The first time we went he was all excited and thrilled to be catching crabs. We caught 15 that night and took them home. He helped em clean them all and put a couple in a big pot once we got all the gunk off of them. I picked up the pot and put it on the stove with him smiling the whole time, so happy that we had crabs!!! He ran around the corner and looked at the little bitty crab we had in the aquarium and and said come on... put them in!! I told him they werent those kinds of crabs and he came around the corner in time to see me flip on the burner,,,,,,He screamed and started yelling NO... you murderer!!! Youre killing them!!! we ate crab all season but he refused. We had to go get him imitation crab!!!! laugh out loud
