Prayer Request Thread.

I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!

Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.

Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

I heart my Papaw!

My mom is at the hospital now and they're supposed to take her back around 8. Kinda nervous for her. I mean I'm 99% sure it'll go fine and if there is any cancer they'll hopefully be able to get it all but still. Also I hope they'll be able to do it the easier way and not the slice across the stomach that'll take so much longer to heal.

She's out of surgery. It went fine. They did not have to do the long cut across the stomach they were worried they may have to do, which is great. They sent some tissue specimen to be tested for cancer. I'm not sure when they'll get that back.

She's in loads of pain. She's got horrible back problems...she can't lay down in a bed to sleep at night or go out anywhere very long or sit in the car long enough to come visit me an hour away. So the hospital bed is hurting her really badly then along with the operation it's just very hurtful. My dad said the morphine wasn't working at all so they've switched her to something called Toridal. I've never heard of that and I thought I knew all about pain meds, lol. Also they are bringing her a heating pad and put her in a chair and last I heard that's helping some.

Glad to hear she is out of surgery and all that.

I'm sorry that she's having the back pain issues now.

woot Glad to know it went well. Tell her to be careful with that heating pad, you don't want her to fall asleep with it on or she might wind up with a burn on her back. So keep it pretty low or turn it off when she gets drowsy. Toradol is good stuff, especially if they have her on that machine were she can control dosage. I had no pain at all after my partial hysterectomy and I have a bad back too but not as bad as your mom's back is. They say walking as much as you can really helps to keep the pain down and to get the gas out of your system faster, so I was like a track star going up and down those hallways. laugh out loud

Haha~ I was right there with you! I had a total hysterectomy and it was a cakewalk compared to the gas pains. I would have stood on my head and hummed Dixie if it would have helped! laugh out loud

Autumn, I'm glad your mom came through surgery well! I will say prayers for great test results~

She's got tons of burns on her back (well scars by now I guess) from heating pad use over the years. She's stopped using it as much over the past few years. Sometimes she tries those heated rice type thing. She can't do much walking due to her back but I'll tell her what you said, even if it's just walking back and forth down the hallway for a five minutes every hour or something. Thanks for the advise hug

My dad had his appendix out a few years ago and he had horrible gas pains. They were more up towards his shoulder and he said it hurt so so bad, even worse than the appendix area.

Thank you hug

My dad texted about 1/2 hour ago and said she's on her way home now. She texted me earlier this morning and said she's feeling a lot better today than she was yesterday afternoon. I hope the test results come back soon and that they are ok. She's one of my best friends in the whole world. We talk almost every day and it's usually about the stupidest things, lol

Lots of people needing prayers lately. Keeping all your intentions in mine. :prayer:

I'm having some issues with a new medication lately, i.e. it's not actually doing a damn thing for me. Kinda discouraging, so just any positive prayers would be great.

Sometimes the meds need to build up in your system for them to show the desired effects.

Yeah, I know. I had to switch off of one that was working really well for me because I had a reaction to the drug once I got above a certain dosage. This new one needs less build up to work, but it's just not doing much and I've gone back to how I was before I started the original med. Just frustrating to bounce around trying to find the right one.

Plus this one has increased my appetite and decreased my energy level. It's annoying.
