Fall 2011 new TV shows (((new update about Awake on post 185)))

So what do you think about the new shows so far?

I like New Girl, it was a bit awkward and slow at the beginning but by the end of the show, I was hooked. There were some funny jokes and good casting. I love the Small spoiler:

Two Broke Girls
, I made the mistake of watching a short clip online about a week ago and thought it looked terrible but DH set it to tape. Turns out the short clip was the least funny line in the whole show, the rest of the show was witty and downright funny.

Unforgettable
, meh. I'll watch one more because DH wants to, but wasn't that fussed over it. There were a couple of really annoying points in the show. Huge spoiler:

Free Agents
, really liked this one. Good cast and a really good pilot. Just hope they can keep it up without it becoming tired.

The Secret Circle
. Typical trying to cash in on Twilight show, only with witches. Couldn't get through one episode.

Same thing with Ringer, had to turn it off part way through the pilot.

Some shows I'm looking forward to, haven't aired yet....

Awake (no air date at this time but the trailer is really interesting and the lead actor is one of my faves, he's British)
Grimm (trailer looks good, even though the premise sounds silly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh3rFsv_WSE it airs 10/28, date changed)
Pan Am (Like Madmen in the air?Dontknow airs 9/25)
Person of Interest (the trailer looks really good, interesting premise airs 9/21)
Prime Suspect (there's a British Show by the same name, so I guess they're doing an American version Dontknow Airs 9/22)

It's not a new show but isn't steve carrell replaced by someone NEW? LOL i don't even watch the show.

Eric mentioned Hawaii 5-0 but i couldn't stand the show due to the yelling. What's with the yelling instead of having dialogue, it doesn't seem like drama or makes thing interesting for me. When the two guys were in the car and the guy from entourage cahn kept yelling i wanted to kick him in the face. I see this trend everywhere else and it's stupid to me because I can't understand what the people are saying to each other very well and it seems like a cheap trick kinda like shaking the camera to make a scene more action packed and turn the non action sequence into an action scene.

While I still watch and enjoy The Office regularly, it has gone way downhill over the past couple of years. Steve Carrell's absence is hurting it more than I thought, as I'm finding this season to be the worst so far.

I expected The Office to take its place solidly as my second favorite sitcom of all time, just after Arrested Development and just before Seinfeld. But the lackluster episodes of the past couple of seasons have knocked it down to maybe #5 or so. Seinfeld's finale was so-so, but there were still a lot of great episodes in the later seasons. The truly memorable episodes of The Office lately have become more and more rare.

I can't believe Men of a Certain Age was cancelled earlier this year. I thought it was a great show.

You're in medical school and you like House? I thought that some of the premises of the show (most actually!) would make a medical student chuckle in disbelief.Smilie

3rd year resident now. . .I do watch it for some of the cases; however it is more for the amusement of him being an ass.

I found that after getting some medical background, it's hard to watch most medical shows because you're educated on a lot of the subject matter and procedures. And, you know when it's wrong.

For example, there was a scene in ER where the doctor was using a direct ophthalmoscope to look into a patient's eyes but was using it at arm's length! I thought ER had doctors as consultants on the show?!?!?

I'll admit that without Steve Carrell, it's not the same show. However, I am still willing to give it a chance considering Dwight and Jim still make the show funny.

Seinfeld's finale sucked. There was no thought or effort to make a memorable ending.

Newhart had one of the best finales ever.

Finale's almost always suck. The only one that had great closure to almost every storyline AND was a fantastic episode IMO was The Shield. I actually love Larry David's idea for Curb. He doesn't plan to do ANYTHING for his finale, it's just gonna be a regular, high quality episode. Just like all the others. Any of his season finales could just about be a series finale for all we know, especially since we never know IF another season is coming.

I actually think they are more back to their roots this season than in the past 2 seasons.

Yea, cuz sometimes it really IS Lupus. You have to suspend reality to watch shows though.
