Fall 2011 new TV shows (((new update about Awake on post 185)))

So what do you think about the new shows so far?

I like New Girl, it was a bit awkward and slow at the beginning but by the end of the show, I was hooked. There were some funny jokes and good casting. I love the Small spoiler:

Two Broke Girls
, I made the mistake of watching a short clip online about a week ago and thought it looked terrible but DH set it to tape. Turns out the short clip was the least funny line in the whole show, the rest of the show was witty and downright funny.

Unforgettable
, meh. I'll watch one more because DH wants to, but wasn't that fussed over it. There were a couple of really annoying points in the show. Huge spoiler:

Free Agents
, really liked this one. Good cast and a really good pilot. Just hope they can keep it up without it becoming tired.

The Secret Circle
. Typical trying to cash in on Twilight show, only with witches. Couldn't get through one episode.

Same thing with Ringer, had to turn it off part way through the pilot.

Some shows I'm looking forward to, haven't aired yet....

Awake (no air date at this time but the trailer is really interesting and the lead actor is one of my faves, he's British)
Grimm (trailer looks good, even though the premise sounds silly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh3rFsv_WSE it airs 10/28, date changed)
Pan Am (Like Madmen in the air?Dontknow airs 9/25)
Person of Interest (the trailer looks really good, interesting premise airs 9/21)
Prime Suspect (there's a British Show by the same name, so I guess they're doing an American version Dontknow Airs 9/22)

Is it even available on blue ray?
I doubt it. The series started in 1991 and finished in 2008 with only seven series. They skipped several years, which is a weird British thing that I still don't understand. Did a quick search and nothing came up for blu-ray.

It aired on Masterpiece Theater (PBS) in the states and that's how I first found out about it.

Yeah. I saw a complete series set come out on dvd not too long ago, that I put in my Amazon Wishlist. And by "series" I mean all the seasons, not the British "series" meaning one season. Also weird that they are short seasons, like 6 or 9 episodes.

Yeah, that drives me crazy. One of the best shows that they've come out with in recent years (Sherlock in 2010) only had three episodes. There was supposed to be a second season this year but filming ran long and they've moved it out to next year. Annoyed

Season (series) 1 has an 8.9 on IMDB.

I don't see people in here talking about it much but "Happy Endings" has become one of my favorite shows.

The pilot for Awake finally aired last week, just got around to watching it. The show is really interesting, hope they can keep it up. It has an 8.3 rating on IMDB.

If you missed it, you can watch it on NBC or Hulu. Or if you want to watch it on your TV, SyFy and G4 are airing the pilot one more time on Tuesday and Wednesday but I don't recall the time and which is airing it on which day.

Has anyone else been watching Revenge all season? I was in love with this show up until a week or two ago. Just curious if anyone else is in the same boat.

I'm loving Grimm.. will review after a few more episodes, but DF stayed awake to watch it so it gets extra points for that. Like Zoe said, he doesn't like those type of shows either.
Once Upon a Time is quirky....still watching it.
New Girl was a riot..not so much anymore...maybe the world series break killed it. IDK
Two Broke Girls is funny..just always forget it's on..lol
the new 2 and a half Men is funny to me, DF liked it better with Charlie Sheen. I never watched it then.

Haven't started watching Revenge, but hear it's good.

Pretty much all thats interested me. Dontknow
No longer watching Grimm. I think I made it 3 or 4 episodes before I got bored with it.Dontknow

Once Upon a Time..still watching it, It actually is a lot better then when it started out.

New Girl is ok now, the funniness is slowly wearing off. Still watching it though, via DVR when nothing else on.

Two Broke Girls...again stopped watching it, just got boring and same old stuff.

2 1/2 Men is ok, still watching it ...but now have watched the old ones and DF is right way better with Charlie.

Still haven't watched Revenge.

One other show we like now is Rob, with Rob Schnider. It was a riot in the beginning but slowing down now. We'll see what happens.

Season 2 premiere of Breaking In tomorrow night @ 9:30pm (EST) on Fox. Woot
I absolutely loved season 1 and am so glad they revived it from cancellation for a second season although they are changing up the cast a bit.

Psyched for Breaking In to start again. Sad that Lex Luthor isnt on it anymore though.
Really digging Revenge and Once Upon a Time. Watching Grimm but I could take it or leave it. Big plus, is its on Friday nights. Rob is growing on me. By far the best feature of the show is Cheech, although I am liking the family dynamic that is forming. But it is very predictable. New Girl is just getting more and more annoying. Schmidt and Nick are the only funny part of the show. The new Coach and Jess are decidedly unfunny. Jess is just annoying.

Terra Nova has officially been canceled by Fox but the creators are trying to shop the show to another network.

Wow, I'm shocked by that. I thought it got really great reviews in the first few weeks it was on.

I definitely see where you are coming from, and agree that it has gone downhill a little bit. I read somewhere that they originally had the entire season mapped out. When the producers saw how popular the show was, and how popular specific characters were, they changed the course of the season somewhat partway through. I think, and I could be wrong, we are now seeing some of those changes. Specifically the identity of the victim on the beach.

Yup, I bet you're right. And I bet I know which character they expected to write off!

Secret nod

Who has become my favorite character on the show. I do not like what they did in the last episode with . That seems to be a bit of a copout. And i could have sworn that I read somewhere that and the big mystery of the rest of the season was going to be who did it.
