September 22, 2011, 1:08 pm: System Notice: This thread content has been automatically archived from another thread which reached post limit, and will be preserved for reference and archival purposes. The discussion should continue in the original thread

Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Ok, this is the first day I received anything substantial at my new place. In the mail I got my Burberry perfume (which I like) and my get Kinky bracelet. Then UPS just dropped off my hair dryer from suave! So I can do my hair, smell nummy, and go out to get kinky! Could be a long weekend!

It's been a while since I posted, and since this is the last week of the current Marlboro promotion I decided it was time to post. So here's a mishmash of things that all could have had a separate posting at some point.

Concerning projects to restore or improve the environment. This has been a hard year on me, the weather was too hot or too wet for much of what I wanted to get done. I am also getting a bit older and it is sometimes difficult to do what I did a few years ago. Essentially all I got done was grow around a hundred tomato plants. Oh and an acre or two of hay with lots of clover in it! Dale got 7 big round bales on the first cutting. A great yield for about 2 acres.

Dale also did a few things for the environment, lol. He had his new wife canning tomatoes till she was seeing red. You see at my suggestion he also put in a large tomato patch and then she had theirs and mine to use for canning. He also cleared a bunch of acreage of scrub oak and similar trees that have overgrown the pastures on several farms near where he lives. The area was once called the "Tall Grass Prairie" and had very few trees. They are turning as much as they can back into native pasture. This year we have had regular sightings of Bear, Cougar, wolf and coyote, and of course Deer, in the woodlands surrounding the pastures.

Neither Dale nor I won one of the grand prises. I would be interested in seeing or hearing about the restoration and environmental projects the winners of the money started or did with the extra help from Marlboro.

My living room furniture consists mostly of an old sofa and matching wing-back easy chair, a large pellet stove, a couple of old trunks that I use as tables and a 60" plasma and two old dogs. Well last winter I kinda got the sofa on fire....thankfully saw the smoke and put it out. Left a hole that has mostly been well covered by a sofa throw cover I got for the thing. Dale looks at the sofa kinda suspiciously when he's visiting. Lately he's been grabbing a kitchen chair to sit on. Last week I had a visit from an local fella, a friend that has been mourning his wife. She died in a car accident last Spring. Well Robbie is a rotund fella. I suspect a good 400 pounds. He sat in my easy chair and I be darned if the thing didn't collapse under him. Not all the way to the floor, just sorta leaned and listed badly to one side.

I told my sister about the sofa and chair situation. She is younger than me but has always seemed to have my back when needed. She was aghast at the sofa and chair situation. Actually scolded me! I told her, Gee what's a bachelor to do? But that excuse, being lame as ever, didn't cut any ice with her. Today she told me she had bought two Stickley designed Morris style chairs for me. Each with ottoman. I went to the Stickley site to see what the chairs looked like. While there I spied a contest which I will post below. I told Dale he needs to come her and assist me in getting the sofa and chair to the burn pile. I suggest he also bring his wife and some marshmallows. I didn't tell him I have another 10 gallons of fresh tomatoes that need canning....which I will pass on to his wife.

laugh out loud..We love hearing from you Ichi, please post more often.

I think the people that had won the trip for the project's aren't allowed to say anything until the promotion is over,I am hoping also they come back and share pictures or tell what they have done.

And about that furniture...PLEASE be careful.Yes furniture is replaceable but You are not.hug

Wow - you did a lot. I know what you mean about not being able to do what I could a few years ago. I get angry with myself when I cannot do everything, and I cannot. Seems like you are happy and I am glad that you posted as I think about you and so many others a lot. This is the second time in a month. Do you ever get to enter any of the sweeps or anything? They are fun and you could win a lot. Take care. Write again. waveBig Grin

Surprisingly not melted. The gift basket was all wrapped up in a somewhat rigid silver bubble wrap with two refrigerant gel packs inside which seemed to have mostly lost their chill.
I live in North Carolina and it was pretty warm today so I suspect if it had sat in the sun on the front porch for a while it would have been a different story but I was home when they dropped it off.

I'm not too concerned with the chocolate, but I'll raise a stink if it's out of date. Curious about the camera,, is it something decent ??
