So, I don't know how the Nazi or any military defense of "I was just following orders" would apply here. We're talking about police procedures. So, if ppl now disagree with those procedures, the police can make those changes after any uproar over its use. However, they shouldn't arbitrarily go punishing their officers after the fact for following procedures before those changes took place!
It's like the NFL fining its players for "vicious" hits that happened before the new rules took place which defined what "vicious" hits were. Prior, those were considered legal hits. But, the NFL then went back and retroactively applied the new rules for previous games!
That said, he is still using that analogy to support his argument, which is rather extreme. And, just because you state that "I'm not equating the two" after you mention it in your argument does NOT mean that it takes away from the point that you're trying to make as far as relating the two.
People on this thread were saying Fat Cop was "following normal police procedure".
It's the same thing.. People are saying that Fat Cop is absolved of responsibility because he was following procedure. Fat Cop should've known that spraying that girl at close range with pepper spray when she was not a threat at all was excessive.
Z2g.. you are the one that needs reading comprension.
IMO, I bet if this was a cause people believed in on this forum, the same people saying the kids "got what was coming to them" would be outraged.
This is how our government has grown more oppressive and corrupt. The politicians now have people trained to cheer when nonviolent college students get pepper sprayed.. Sad state of affairs.
The students were blocking a sidewalk.. OMG.. they might've disrupted a school activity.
(There's no evidence I saw where they were not allowing people to pass through).
So you are saying blocking a sidewalk is worse than trying to overthrow the government?
If so, you should run for congress
By the way, the Libyan government killed or try to kill those rebels. So, you're trying to "equate" pepper spray use with actual gun fire and machine guns? Okay....that makes a lot of sense!

The only problem I have with using pepper spray is that you can't tell if they are crying because of that or just because they came to the realization that they are nothing but a drain on society and will never have anything to contribute themselves.
Oh yeah? Did they get sprayed liberally like the protestors did in the video? Was the can shaken up real good to ensure that the contents did not settle?
The point of my story is that I have some background as far as the use of pepper spray. I know ppl who have had it shot in their eyes (for their training) and I've treated patients who got pepper spray in their eyes.
That was my point! LOL!!!!
Where within those rights does it say that you can stay on private property for as long as you like? Please tell me that.
Secondly, the Davis students were camped out on the campus. The articles even stated that school officials told the students that protesting was fine. However, they told the students they couldn't camp out!
