It'd be interesting to hear the take from an unbiased child. Even more interesting is what any future offspring(s) of the protesters would have to say of what their parent did? Hey why not what MLK thinks of Ryu-bom comparing him with these protestors.

Cause kids sitting on a sidewalk is ILLEGAL ( when did sitting on a sidewalk equates to PILLIAGING Confused), but MLK marching on the street with no permit either is not illegal ?...

Both events the police asked them to leave... and well we all know how standing your ground turned out for both.. But keep thinking its ok to be pepper sprayed at point blank range...

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep hiding behind that... ok
Dude...what is your point? Really?

Yeah it WAS illegal then...he didn't have a permit to march...I'll say that just like I'll say the sun rises in the East and sets in the West...So What??

Yeah the political climate has changed over the years...and it will always change...just like being a dumbass will get you pepper sprayed!!!

I bet that when a cop pulls you over for speeding, that won't give him your license and insurance papers...

Ummm...I'm not reading all 11 pages, and didn't see it from scanning the article...but how were they breaking the law?
They were blocking the sidewalk and refused to move when instructed by the school and police. Add in resisting arrest.

There is a huge difference between why MLK was protesting vs why these lazy hippies are protesting. MLK was protesting the obscene violations of basic human rights and segregation of african americans as a lower class of citizen. At least they had a legitimate disagreement with society and how they were being treated.

These morons in the Occupy protests are not being oppressed by anyone in the way that the african americans were in this country. You're a complete farking moron if you think that their cause is in anyway similar to what is happening with the occupy movement.
well...both groups are protesting...and cops were there...Wink

Really? That's it? They were students right (on their own campus...not trespassing)? And not bothering anybody? If they would have moved off the sidewalk onto the grass, would this still be an issue?

Whether any of you agree with their views or not, do they not at least get some credit for standing up (or sitting down) for what they believe? And doing it in a peaceful manner, no less? Probably 90% of fat ass american teens would assume piss their pants not to have to get up from an "epic battle".

All they had to do was move to the grass. I have zero sympathy for them or their cause.

That's fine. But regardless of your feelings on their views, did it REALLY need to be escalated to being pepper-sprayed? Seemed like an ego thing to me on the part of the cop.

The police tried to get them to move, several times. Your right it was an ego thing, for the kids.

They were breaking the law by blocking a public walkway, they were warned multiple times by the campus and the police that they would need to move. They refused, when the cops tried to move them by pulling them away, they locked arms and actively resisted. This warranted non-lethal pepper spray to make it easier to remove them. They chose to be 'martyrs' for the cause. They just wanted to provoke a response from the police that would piss off a bunch of people.

This was well discussed in the previous 9 pages and Bryantq has a great explanation of it.

whats the point of blocking the sidewalk except for showing disrespect for the rules/authority?
The school wasn't preventing them from protesting, they were just making sure the protests weren't interfering with those who don't care about the protest cause.

Sure, where would you like me to tell them that they are all a bunch of lazy hippies who want the gov't to give them everything and them not have to work for anything in their life? The 1% didn't get there by sitting on a sidewalk.. I'll be glad to tell these bastards that contrary to their own belief, no one owes them shit.

That is funny. Because I do believe that the rich are treated better by the government. But yet I still think that the kids were stupid enough to break the law and cause them to get pepper sprayed.

Remind me if these students represent the more than 50% of the 99% of Americans that don't pay taxes ...

Seems EXACTLY like what happened before this... except they were hosed down with non-lethal water

Damn LAWBREAKERS.... you got what you deserved...Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Why didn't MLK and his band of blacks just listened to police and go home and NOT try to provoke anything...Why did they continue to lock arms and continue to march even after being told NOT to.... Damn they are "martyrs" too
