Emergency cell phone ban!!!!!!!!

21,793 3,419 December 13, 2011 at 09:44 AM in News (3) USA TODAY
NTSB has called for a emgergency cell phone ban in cars everywhee. No use at all. I applaud this call. There are so many idiots on the road who can't drive and talk at the same time. The worst are the textings. What we need is the cops to actually enforce the law. These things are already illegal in CA but people still do it all the time.

Ask the person who said that there's no way this law would pass because of OnStar. I'm just responding to that.
I cited one example and you ran with it. How about the biggest point that I made that this law is completely unenforceable.

That's not a whole lot considering how many have died from heart attacks and cancer. Shouldn't you re-examine your cause?
And heart attacks and cancer are nothing compared to old age. So I guess we should let those go as well.

I addressed that point already.

How will we get traffic reports? Those helicopters don't go everywhere!

A simpler solution would be to have an immediate death penalty of anyone caught using a cellphone or texting while driving.

No.

I'm asking you what your problem with OnStar is? Do you know it's capabilities?

If you truly addressed it then you would see why no state will entertain this suggestion from the NTSB.

Yes. And I told you why we were discussing onstar. How long have you been an OnStar salesman?

No, he does not. If he did then he would agree that OnStar saves more lives than cell phones take.

Why do you keep using the word "emergency?" That word wasn't used in the article. At all.
Because it helps emphasize the exclamation marks!!!!!

NTSB: All states should ban cellphone use while driving

"State governments should prohibit all drivers from using portable electronic devices such as cellphones while behind the wheel, the National Transportation Safety Board unanimously recommended Tuesday."

Yeah!!! Think of all the jobs that would be lost if people started having less accidents. Less ambulance drivers, less doctors, less nurses and less grave diggers. I think it's just job killing Obama trying to kill more jobs. For what? Just to save a measily few thousand lives a year.
Yeah! Kill all those jobs so that those people can live of the tit of the Gov't and my tax dollars! I love helping people buy cigarettes and beer with food stamps!

They've apparently banned talking altogether in the car.

Also, they can easily enforce it. It's called probable cause. Just like they can stop you if you are waving a gun around while leaving a site of a drive by shooting without actually seeing you shoot. I think they could stop you for texting if you are staring down at your phone while busily moving your thumbs.
Crylol

It's called a secondary offense for a reason. You cannot have probable cause on a secondary offense. Roll

Why can't you understand and answer the simple question instead of bullshitting around?

They should just ban having other people in your car too. That's a distraction. Especially if your gf has a low cut top, she must ride in the trunk out of your view.

And if you were at least somewhat informed, you'd know that many states have already passed laws that do much of what the NTSB has suggested. All they need to do is add hands free to those laws. The main push for NTSB is to make it country wide.
