Five gallons at a time... OMG that is a lot of beer. Why do you have to give it away? Is there a shelf life problem?

Luckily my wife let me get a kegerator a couple months ago. It'll hold 60 gallons and I can serve 3 different beers as-is, with the ability to upgrade to 12 if I form an addiction.
Plus I don't drink too much. If I have 6 beers in a week, that's a pretty damn good week. I'm up to 4 this week.

Do the lack of preservatives really make that much of a difference in taste? Yeah I totally get the storage factor (although I didn't at first)
