With so much love for Tebow on the site, I'm curious as to why there is no attention for the New York's newest star? He is not your standard stereotype for a basketball player. He is an Asian-American from Palo Alto with a degree from Harvard. This kid was sleeping on his brother's couch last week and now he is on top of the basketball world.

Recent 3 game stats:
5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 25 pts
2 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, 28 pts
4 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 23 pts.

These are Lebron James type of numbers. Is this kid the real deal?

Streak comes to an end. Knicks will need to improve their TO and free throws. 10 missed free throws this game.

the winning/points streak should continue for at least a few more games, judging from the upcoming opposing teams' performances.

I never thought I say this, but NBA basketball has finally become more interesting to watch than college basketball, for me.
Oh wait, streak is over

lol, spoke too soon; 26 points in a game is still impressive despite the TOs... at least the Knicks' winning streak ended before Melo went back to play. That would've been dramatic.

Talk about a roller coaster ride. Knicks are too stacked on offensive players, they need Jeffries back and need to unload some players. LMAO

I not blaming Melo but damn it's hard not to. Stacking teams with superstars work when they are superstars at both end of the court. Lebron is arguably the best defender in the game and Wade is the first name that comes to my mind when I think transition defense. Knicks have a lot of good role players. Shumpert, Fields, Jeffries, Novak, and whatshisname but they have to share 48 minutes with a overcrowded team. This sucks balls.

Mike D'Antoni is out as head coach of the New York Knicks, according to multiple reports on Wednesday.

A source told the website it was a "mutual decision" between D'Antoni and the Knicks' front office.

It's not hard not to. Look, Melo has not played well. You blame him for that, 100%. But the idea that Melo is to blame for the entire team melting down is laughable. D'Antoni's problem is that he can't adapt, he's completely inflexible. Carmelo Anthony didn't fit his system, and D'Antoni was too stubborn to make changes. So he quit.

Ask yourself this: would anybody ever say "this player we have is really good, but he just doesn't fit Pat Riley's system"? Hell no. Why? Because Pat Riley will adjust his strategy to the talent that he has. He's not locked into a "system". When Riley came to the Knicks, he didn't have half the talent he had on the showtime Lakers. So what did he do? He built a defensive powerhouse and he had success that way. When your coach can't adapt their style to fit different players, they're a waste of time as a coach.

That isn't true at all. The problem is that the D'Antoni system lets his PG do whatever he wants. Even if that means shooting 25 times and not playing defense. You force your point guard to find his scorers and stop shooting, like the Knicks did last night, and suddenly you have something. Lin took 4 shots last night in 22 mins. In a full game that's 6-7. That's PERFECT. Anytime he's taking 15 shots or more, that's a bad idea. He HAS scorers, he doesn't have to do that. Look, the impact of taking the D'Antoni handcuffs off were immediately apparent last night. They scored 43 field goals and had 35 assists. Baron Davis has 10 assists in just 18 minutes. And the fact that they beat up on a shit team only makes that more impressive, because it's quite easy to get undisciplined when you're winning a 30+ point blowout. But they didn't.

PS- anyone who thinks "starter" or "bench" matters in the NBA doesn't know a damn thing about basketball. It's not about who starts. It's about minutes. Lin will get his minutes, whether he's starting or not. But you have to find the right package of players for him to play with. If he's not at his best with Melo on the floor, then maybe you try to minimize the minutes they play together. So that could mean he plays 30-35 minutes off the bench, but only 10-15 with Melo on the floor at the same time. You also need to make sure he plays when there's also another quick guard on the court, because he's a TERRIBLE on-the-ball defender. Opposing PGs light him up. That means pairing him with Shumpert makes sense.
