ON TOP of the phone itself ? I don't think so.
What is it? Social status? My friend has one so I NEED one?
I'll take my dumb phone and laptop any day.

A summary from last time:

I think you're just so intent on going against the grain (even though it's illogical, cumbersome, less convenient, and provides no actual benefit to you) so you can delude yourself into feeling "unique" and "special."
In fact, you're so hellbent on going against anything with any sort of mass popularity so you can be "different" that you actually make yourself believe that the crap you have is somehow "better." And the funniest part about that is that it makes you so angry, you have to lash out at anyone that uses the devices that you hate so much. Which in turn makes you look like a complete idiot to everyone else because of your gigantic delusions, and then you become a social pariah. Well... bravo, buddy. You certainly set yourself apart from the crowd.

And is it on Android or iOS?
Is it worth $1200 in just DATA (not phone costs or minutes) charges per year for a family of four to have smartphones OR is it a waste of money because you already have an Internet connection and could pay much less with phones that had no data contract?
Oh...another thing is when I'm in a area where my cell coverage is bad for calling I can switch over to use just my data to make those calls with an app on my phone. Again you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. I keep killng your dishonest claims and lies but you don't even address it. Is your whole life this same big lie? I bet it is.
Google Navigation is updated more often than Garmin does 4 times per year...making my phone and Google Navigation MORE accurate and updated than Garmin. I have compared SIDE BY SIDE with a Garmin and my phone using Google Navigation. My Android phone and Google Navigation were just as accurate, down to each turn. PLUS Google Navigation was more up to date with important things like detours. Try getting around in an area you aren't familiar with on a busy street at night or in bad weather (or both) to a highway or other way to your destination. Your Garmin probably doesn't have the update with the recent detour.....but my phone does due to the FREE Google Navigation app. Saved me gas, time, lots of frustration....all saving me money and doing a better job than my Garmin GPS did on the exact same trip. Throw in FREE Street View (Google app) and I can see with my own eyes exactly what my destination looks like so I know for sure I am virtually at the door of wherever I am driving. Garmin doesn't even come close and has NOTHING like this feature.
So I have proved once again you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. Obvious troll is obvious.
Google Maps:
- Constantly being updated with no need to download new updates
- Street View
- Power of Google that can search for whatever business you're looking for in your area or where you will be that doesn't need to be in the default POIs of your little garmin.
- A small purchase can give you voice turn by turn directions
- Built into a device you already own, no need to have a second device just for directions.
- Offers traffic at no add'l cost
- Can be used whether in a car, on a bike, walking around the city
- Offers directions via Public Transportation
Garmin:
- Needs to be manually updated
- Limited POIs
- Traffic service costs extra
- No Google Street View
- Additional Device to purchase and mount in your car
- Can't be used while walking around a city, only real use is in a car
- Doesn't give information on public transportation
Yeah, you're right. Your garmin is so much better than google maps.
Obvious troll is just hating that we can afford and have what he can't. You will notice he either doesn't or fails to effectively address the arguments I bring up that destroy his claims. He doesn't even have a clue what he's talking about and what Google does!
Again....obvious troll is obvious.....
Yeah buddy his question has been answered many times. Not only did I answer it in my reply to him and you but I blew his argument out of the water with the scan &scram example that I have done many times. Saving more than what I spend on my smartphone all because I have my smartphone with me kills his trolling argument. Notice he didn't even try to address my post? Proof he is trolling and can't admit that I killed his argument. One more thing: No one here spends $1200 a year for JUST data (that's his claim) with their smartphone. I pay hundreds less than that a year for everything including my phone service and texting. His claim and argument isn't even authentic. Notice he can't bring up ONE verifiable example of people paying $1200 per JUST for data while his claim is that everyone pays that amount!
You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. Prove your claim with verification that people are paying $1200 per year JUST for data. That's your claim so prove it. Or just admit you are trolling and a complete fool for not knowing the slightest of what you're talking about.
Jesus Christ....you are a stay at home hermit with no social skills and no friends...yeah I get that part but YOU aren't the only person in this world now are you? Other people DO need data away from home so how is this a concern of yours in any way? Again it doesn't affect you in the least so what's your problem? And why didn't you address my real life example where I blew you ignorant and intellectually dishonest claim out of the water? My use includes my phone WITH data paying for itself by allowing me to find better prices and hot deals on things I want to buy. Often a sale price is beaten by a price I find thru using the data portion of my phone.

Don't know you ass from a hole in the ground on this subject either!

I just proved you wrong and you don't know what you're talking about. Garmin POI's are often out of date with businesses that are out of business or have moved.....my Android with Google Navigation is updated more often with newer businesses that Garmin doesn't even have yet plus old, out of business places removed. Now your turn to try and prove your ignorant claim.
Obvious troll doesn't even understand that Garmin gets their info from the SAME city, county and state sources that Google does....but Google updates much more frequently (more often) than Garmin does. Plus Google includes more and better resources like Street View and better, more up to date POI's than Garmin does. Updating four times a year is the best Garmin can do and that's all they have. Garmin can't match 5, 6, 10 or even 12 times a year like Google can and has done before with updates PLUS the added FREE apps and features I've mentioned. Toss in Google's accuracy is the same or better (due to more frequent updates) than Garmin (proved it myself) plus Street View and you have a superior product no matter how you look at it. Obvious troll's comparison isn't even close to the truth and just makes him look more like a troll than ever.

My My if I'm a "troll" you certainly hold me in high esteem to spend so much smart phone time on me.
I just don't see where spending whatever it is a buck a day per person is worth it. Should be free. But hey its your money.
If you want to use his made-up, unrealistic figure then go ahead but then I'll ask you to prove we are spending $1200/yr. for JUST data like obvious troll claims. I don't know anyone that spends that JUST for data. Tie your anchor around your neck and sink with obvious troll if you want to!

So I guess I'm way off in assuming that the average data plan runs $25-30 per month for the average consumer.
Funny that's what they try to charge most everywhere I look.
You haven't shown how this even affects you since you choose not to pay for data. Also prove (with verification) we here are spending $1200/yr on JUST data like you claim. Thanks for admitting you are just hating because I have something (at a much lower cost than your made up bullsh!t) you can't have. Your 'should be free' claim is ignorant at best but reveals you really WANT data....you just can't afford it.

I'm out of this troll thread since you can't refute what I've proven and you have admitted you are FOS. But it was fun forcing you to admit that!
Please show me how your Data use saves you $90 or so a month.....
Then why did you keep telling me that you did and that it had been answered many times?
I'm not sure what you're exactly trying to find out with this question and this thread. Are you doing some sort of survey to see how many yes and no's you can tally up? Because in the end it's a stupid question just as if someone was to ask if it really is worth $1200 per year to use you're lights? (assuming you pay $100 a month for your electricity bill)
Also you see the bold part? We don't care what your answer is or otherwise we would of made this thread instead. You're the only one interested. Next time just keep that bold part to yourself.
