RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

Hi all,
I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.
Everyone is welcome!
I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.
This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.
So, I hope it catches on !
So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

My other cat -- Azizi who's nine -- adores Miss K but realizes that something is wrong. He's started grooming her once in a while which he never did before. And she lets him, which she never did before. He'll take her dying hard, but within a few weeks I'll get another cat to keep him company and we'll all muddle through.
Thanks for the sweet comment on facebook about our camping adventure!
The entire experience was awesome! Fifteen other local families won much of the same gear from Coleman in a local contest, and that's who all was in the campground. I may be mistaken, but I believe all three other sites (CA, PA and MO) also had campouts as well.
We were one of the few groups without little kids. The children made this experience the most fun, watching their fascination and fun with everything from ants to the water spigot.
There are 11 fires now burning in Colorado, one of which is in Estes Park, where my father has a cabin that has been in our family for three generations plus. Twenty some structures have burned down there thus far. My dad is returning from a trip with his wife's family in North Carolina tomorrow, which is a good thing. They live in Denver, but spend summers at the cabin. There is also a bad fire near Colorado Springs.
I thought there would be more smoke in the air here in Denver, or that you could see it. I always use moisture drops in my eyes when I'm here anyway, because my eyes have gotten scratched badly from particles in the air here in the mile high city.

We had demonstrations for lunch and dinner by a local celebrity chef who showed us how to prepare a healthy, easy meal using Coleman gear. Then families split into groups to cook and eat together, in the shade of canopies, and we all enjoyed that. The kids were hilarious and had so much fun!
Various activities were planned for the afternoon. Goat and the Crazy Celt went horseback riding, and Louie and I headed for the lake on Pelican Point to go kayaking. We got the wimp kayak, as my sister was somewhat nervous. We had fun paddling around, looking at the swans and ducks and continued getting sunburned, despite multiple layers of sunscreen. Being on the water cooled us off somewhat, which was a relief. As we stood by the shore after our float, a big, white bird landed right in front of us that was so majestic as it dominated the lake scene before us. No one was quite sure what it was...maybe a heron? It was a stunning white pelican. I've never seen one before. It flew away before we could get our cameras, which were up on the bank with the rest of our stuff.
Dinnertime rolled around before we had time to go fishing, and Coleman had paid for a license for those of us that didn't have one. During our meal we were serenaded by a couple guys who played guitars and sang familiar songs. Goat had printed up the words of some campfire songs, including songs from our Girl Scout days, songs from our family. Although we sang some of them throughout the day, the only sing along was by our campfire. I was surprised that they allowed campfires in designated rings, because it is so dry and the fire danger is so high.
We never did go fishing that day, and by dark everyone went to sleep, except us. We sat up and talked and sang by our campfire, as the amber moon went down behind the foothills.
The next day as we broke down our camp, I went to talk with the Coleman reps about what to do with the gear we had just used, as all my gear would be shipped home to me in Washington. They told me to keep it. I had to ask several times if was OK to do that, in addition to my prize. They assured me it was fine, and my sister's will split up all that great Coleman camping gear! Yep...it sure is fun to share!
We left our campsite with a hoot and a holler to go fishing. Crazy Celt caught a trout, but we were all so sunburned and sweaty and tired, we headed back to the mile high city...happy siblings, happy campers.
Thanks so much to those of you who congratulated me on my two huge wins, and gave me a bon voyage to Colorado! I'm heading home to Clearwater tomorrow and getting somewhat melancholy as I pack my bags. I am so fortunate, because my wish came true.
