Also tried on the 2nd one...it was horribly unflattering and matronly on me. I joked that I looked like Mother Nature in it. lol

didn't realize how spoiled my oldest sister is for having househelp -- she doesn't know how to wash clothes in the washing machine. first put detergent the wrong way (on top of clothes), which is forgivable, i think this is a common error. but during the cycle, she asked when to put the fabric softener

Thanks girl. We don't get sick days at work. How much BS is that? I've been working there full time + on call 24/7 every other week for 3 years and we get no sick days. I hit 3 years on August 13th so I get 10 days of vacation time then, but yeah.

I went to an Urgent Care today because I woke up and felt like I was going to die. I STILL have a fever of 102 and I took tylenol only a little over 3 hours ago. I just got back from the urgent care and they were fabulous. They are pretty sure I have sever strep so it's now had FIVE DAYS to keep getting worse in my system. Oh joy. They gave me a shot of steroids hoping it helps open up my throat and quell the swelling and fight off anything that may be viral. They also gave me a 10 day supply of Suprax, so hopefully whatever this is starts to die off before I do!

I'm heading off to sleep some more. I'd give anything to hold the little one right now!

OTOH, if I have to stay home on Monday too I get my VS packages early!!

For moms, what have been some of your best baby shower gifts you have received? What are good, gender neutral, and useful baby shower gifts to give to a coworker? I have some ideas, but would like to get your thoughts. Thanks.

I plan on writing a letter to the head of the ER there. I choose this hospital over others in the area as the staff are kind, the hospital is clean and there isn't normally much of a wait. I can understand that was out of their control, but the attitude of the doctor was unacceptable. Without getting into a political debate about healthcare, I don't feel like after paying that hospital over $2,000 already this year and having insurance and actually paying my bills that the treatment I received was acceptable. I got so frustrated that I asked the lady in the triage if they had an "I pay my bills and have insurance" express lane. She told me that would be discrimination. :facepalm : The nurse then told me how many mothers bring their kids in for tylenol. TYLENOL. Because they don't want to buy it and they have to be seen in the ER for free.

I'll never go back unless I am bleeding to death. The urgent care informed me they have an EKG and all the other things necessary to stabilize someone whose heartrate is at 140. I just should have went there to begin with but figured since my heartrate was so high they would have transported me anyhow.I hate gambling on cardiac issues. The urgent care requires payment up front so there is never more than a couple people there and the staff is fabulous.

I am going to email the supervisor at the hospital. Even if they can just knock the pompous prick doctor I had down a few notches, my payment to the hospital will then be a contribution to society. (He was a young, know it all jerk who could NOT use a word with less than 8 letters.) When I told him I had a sore throat he corrected me with "pharyngitis." When I said I had sore joints he replied with "Arthralgia." I just wanted to look at him and be like, "Look asshole. I've been in the waiting room for SIX hours. I'm going to point at things and say ouch and you're supposed to nod and say OK and fix it. That is why you get paid"

Overall, I already am feeling a little better from the steroid shot. I can swallow some food and when I woke up from my nap I had a glass of chocolate milk with some fruit and it was wonderful. To be able to swallow some food and drink without feeling like I'm going to die is nice. It still hurts, but it is tolerable.

I just slept for like 3 hours! I felt a bit better when I woke up, the only bad thing is I keep getting SO sweaty and nasty while I am in bed so I have to keep changing the sheets which I hate doing :lol : It's definitely not a sound sleep as I was tossing and turning, but it gave the steroids some time to kick in. I'm normally not a medication person at all and I hate antibiotics too, but man, after 4 days of this crap getting worse something had to give, so glad I took the shot! Now I can catch up on the olympics!

It's crazy, I had a great immune system before I had her. I call DD my little germ pod. I can't resist posting this guys - this is DD on DH's lap tonight:

she has the fluffiest hair ever lol. She looks like a koosh ball! Hope your DS is feeling better and you and him stay germ free!

You should definitely contact the hospital with your records from the UC. They'll probably still charge you, but they need to get their act together. If the UC could treat your symptoms, they could have too. Instead, you're paying them to allow you to sit in their chair for hours. I hate going to the ER. The only time we've gone in many years was when our DS was in an accident. We always go to UC instead. The wait is definitely shorter than at an ER. I'm glad your meds are helping. Hopefully, you won't need to go to the doctor again on Tuesday.

Fabric softener will change your life. I use 3 capfuls of Downy in every load. It makes everything so soft & smell so good.
