Well I defnitely dont like anything that dries out my skin. I wont use bar soap for that reason. I dont need squeaky clean either...but some cleansers just leave an icky film on my face. Boscia's Clear Complexion one doesnt so currently I like that one. I used to use a cheap one (Eucerin Pore Purifying) but the idiots discontinued it Mad

On the subject of toners: I dont think they are really needed for anything, so I think if you like one it's cool but if you dont feel you need one that is fine too.
hehe i will put that on the list of cleansers to try! Smilie i already know that it is likely too expensive for me to use on a normal basis tho. but thanks for the rec!

and Iagree about toners. imo they are not necessary and they can do more harm than good (there are a lot of awful toners out there!). so glad i finally learned the error of my ways!

This thread made me go and look at cleansers on Sephora.com to try out. They keep coming up with new stuff. They dont help by having so many to check out shake head This could take forever..laugh out loud

clinique's do so much harm! all but the mild have alcohol in them, which is a huge no-no! i went through a few bottles of their lotions. *sigh* i wish i could go back in time and tell myself not to do that! definitely aged me a ton...

hey azn, was this [victoriassecret.com] the coverup that you had liked? wasn't sure if you'd seen it in clearance - looks to be pretty cheap now!

All right, Ally. You requested a flash picture. I did not need to use the flash trick because to show the entire dress I had to stand on a stool. I wore the dress to my friend's baby shower this weekend. It was a big hit. Even with heels, it is still a bit long. The only negative is that it has raw edges.
Nooo! I missed Icey's photo. Sadwalk

Sorry to hear about the impending break up with nuSO. hug I'm sure you'll find a more considerate and less self-absorbed SO in no time.

Anyone here? What are you ladies using as facial cleanser and moisturizer? I use Bare Essentials RareMinerals Purifying Facial Cleanser and Purely Norishing Facial Moisturizer. However, I purchased Simple (Sensitive Skin Experts) Refreshing Facial Wash Gel recently, and I decided to try it today. I have not been using it long enough to give a review, but I am hoping I like it. I prefer foaming cleansers, but I am not sure if foam is good for the face. I used to use a foaming cleanser by Neutrogena.
I received a sample size Simple Refreshing face wash from CVS couple months ago and have been using it since. It's pretty good for my sensitive skin, doesn't leave a "tight" feeling like some of the other face washes I used in the past. It also gets a good rating on Beautypedia [beautypedia.com]. That's where I do my research when I consider purchasing new beauty products. The Clinique Liquid face wash the girls mentioned has an excellent rating on that site [beautypedia.com], it also includes the ingredients list. I'm tempted to buy it now.

I'm still on the search for a good moisturizer with SPF. Lately, I figured out moisturizer with chemical sunscreen leaves my skin itchy, so I just started to look for one with only physical sunscreen instead. Would like to hear if anyone has any recommendations. look around

I use Boscia moisturizer with SPF. I really don't like most SPF moisturizers because it's much too thick for me and Boscia is nice and is oil free.

I tried Purity, but the scent is so strong, I had to push myself to finish it. I personally did not like it.

I use a pricey Japanese brand cleanser, but sparingly, only when I break out or my few times a week ritual with my Clarisonic, otherwise, my skin is too sensitive and will produce too much oil if I use anything aside from water too often.
I do not think my BE moisturizer has SPF, but I use BE SPF 30 Natural Sunscreen. I always use it on my face, but I use it on my entire body when I vaca.

i also have the olay pro-x brush along with clarisonic. i think the results are the same and the olay is better for sensitive skin - it's not as drying. but i do love how clean my face feels after cleansing with a brush. (i like how the clarisonic feels, but it is def more irritating to my skin)

the olay is pretty effective at removing makeup without leaving my face dry. i think i'm down to 1-2 bottles of it (couponer also here, tho i haven't really couponed this year so i'm making my way through my stash). i can't say that it's the only one i'll use, but i've been pretty happy with it so far. i have the one made for sensitive skin - not sure what the difference is. mine is in tube form but i know it also comes in the dispenser form with pump and they're probably the same formula.

i'm so glad i no longer need the toner after washing! now i splash a japanese toner on my face before i moisturize, but it's more for added moisture than to tone.
I shall consider the Olay brush. I never paid attention to it in the past.

I know what you mean about couponing. I was doing it hard last year, but I have eased on it this year. Not interested in WAG even though it is the closest to me. RA is a pain because the scanners hardly work (to scan IPs). I have finally contained all of my stash. I was tired of it overlflowing.

My Olay is in the pump. It is the same one online, which makes me feel comfortable using it. It is probably from last year. I was thinking it was from years ago.

You reminded me of BBW bar soaps. When I stayed at a Wyndham in Nassau, they had BBW True Blue Spa items. I was in love. There was a shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, a facial bar (it was blue), and a body bar (it was white with rounded bumps on one side). They were made specially for the hotel, so I do not know if they were available in-store. The facial bar was not drying as I thought it would be. I have a ton of Neutrogena facial bars. I really want to try the Naturals bar. I have so many toiletries. I want to try them all!

stardust - i just use separate moisturizer and sunscreen. i use the elta md uv physical spf 41. i really love it. i have to moisturize beforehand, but it's such a great sunscreen that does not make my face shiny - keeps oil at bay, and is slightly tinted. the tint is light for me but i use it under foundation so it's not a huge deal to me. i haven't found an amazing moisturizer with spf yet. i gave my mom the olay regenerist spf 50 one and she seemed to like it. i tried it out for a bit before i gave it to her and it was pretty good, but i thought she needed it more than me and i haven't gotten around to buying more of it yet.

Coverlaugh i was notified of the wag almay deal back when we had the chat forum. i have a few stores near me so i ended up totally stocking up on makeup removers and method soap - i'm still using them! the makeup removers turned out to work pretty well (i love the moisturizing one with mineral oil) and i already loved method soaps. i don't usually go to wags and stopped going to RA bc their rewards expire so fast. i like cvs bc i get to take my time - i often get too busy to go ds-ing every week and i like that i get a whole month for cvs. plus, there's 1 nice cvs by me where they take expired ecb's.

i generally hoard for about a year, then go through my stash until i'm almost out. then i start to hoard again... and the process/cycle continues. laugh out loud

i'm like slicky - i won't use those face bars (or any bar soaps) on my face. when i get those bars, i end up using them on my body. actually i've used a few face washes as body soaps, bar or liquid. it works well to deplete the stash. Smilie i'm so excited that i JUST finished my sephora birthday body wash from last year! that one took forever! laugh out loud

I believe so because she purchased the risque swimwear that matches it. It has been $34.99 forever though. I purchased it at $34.99, but returned it because I do not actually have swimwear that matches it. (I think a white swimsuit would look fab with it.)

Thank you. It is difficult for me to meet guys because I do not socialize much. There are never guys my age at the grocers or the drugstores. When I do go out with my BF, we usually do not see unattached guys. No worries. I am looking for employment outside of my state anyway.

Yes, I do not have a tight feeling after using Simple. I will see how I feel after two weeks. I have to try not to use my Cetaphil, which I use to clean my face in the shower sometimes to save time.

That's okay. It's important to check out cleansers and update your routine every now and then.

This one looks interesting. I may try it at some point.

Thanks for the recs, nerdi! Smilie So you apply moisturizer before sunscreen, right? Because sometimes I read articles like this [oprah.com] in which experts are adamant that sunscreen should go on before moisturizer. And that kind of goes against common sense. So idk, I just prefer 2 in 1 product to avoid the confusion. laugh out loud The Elta MD UV has a good ingredients list though; I'm going to put that in my to-try list.

I like the Olay Regenerist serum but the moisturizer has Octisalate, which I think is what's making my skin itchy.

Aw, thanks much for reposting it, Icey! hug You look great in that dress! My first thought on seeing it is "princess." Girly And alvsy was right, it looks like you've full, voluminous hair. I'm jealous. Stick Out Tongue

Does that mean you might be moving to another state if you find a job? Seems like a big transition. Best of luck to you, Icey! Smilie
