Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

Digging up dead animals....bad party manners!

What my dog ate: She did the rush-out-and-eat-grass thing, then the rush-out-and-vomit thing. I still don't know why they have to do this....
I think they eat the grass in order to vomit Like a tummy cleansing ritual or something.

Oh I remember when my dogs would find some nasty thing to roll in and prance around like they had on some expensive cologne...the gooberheads laugh out loud

I'm not sure anything dog is OT in this thread.Confused

Your price is about what we paid for Sophie's. It was worth it. They taught us to make them heel, keep a slack lead, sit calmly for being petted by visitors, sit/stay/down, wait for the human to go through a door first, leave things alone that they want to gobble, stuff like that. (They didn't teach us how to keep them from chewing our stuff when we're not around....maybe that was in the next class....)
