This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Can someone help clarify for me? I am confused about Target Qs being used in conjunction with Manufacturer Qs.

If it says "Limit one item or offer per coupon" on the Target Q can I still use a manufacturer q with it?

If the manufacturer's coupon says "limit one coupon per purchase" on it can I still use the Target coupon with it?

I am guessing No to both questions.

Almost all of the coupons I get these days have either of these two statements printed on them. So how would you ever combine a Target Q with a Manufacturer Q like you're supposed to be able to? Is it just an infrequent occurance when the coupons don't happen to mention the two above statements?

Thanks!
Actually the answer is yes to both questions. Only 1 TQ and 1 MQ per item. The wording on the TQ is just to prevent multiple TQs from being used on the same item and same for the MQ.

There will always be some wording to that effect on either type of cpn. Sometimes the TQ says "one offer per transaction" which means only 1 of the same TQ can be used, no matter how many items you buy. It is presently being cashier-enforced, so YMMV

Well that's just stupid. Must have been ignorant/stupid TSA people. Their guidelines are spelled out on their website and are really clear. Thrift, it's a good idea to read up on their website (they have a whole section on traveling with kids).

Hope the HR peeps can help you. I think what you've described constitutes a "hostile work environment" and you should definitely be protected from that-- universities, esp. public ones-- have pretty clear guidelines on those situations, usually.

OK, I forgot the most important piece of advice: be ready w/something for him to suck on (boob, bottle, or pacifier) for when you are going up or down in the plane so his ears can clear.

As far as the sleeping thing goes, no he's not sleeping too much at night (though 6 straight hours is great!!). Day sleeping is just harder for some kids, mine included. It's not dark, other people aren't going to sleep at the same time, there's noise, etc. Just keep working with him; it will come.
Good to know about the TSA website. Already checking it out. They did say that the water & formula must be mixed. Now that is clearly stupid because it is said that formula can sit mixed at room temp for 2 hours before bacteria can begin to grow. Sure you can keep it cold in a small cooler bag but then how would you warm it back up in the terminal? So you get to the airport 1.5 hours before your flight, you have approx 30 minutes to feed those bottles to your baby? Silly!

Grandpa's funeral is today [legacy.com]. Frown I am missing it because oldest DD woke up with a fever and stomach pains this morning!!! I think the baby is starting to feel warm too. *sigh* I shoved my beloved hubby out the door. He wanted to stay with his sick girls, but I told him he needed to be there for Mom and Grandma. He's such a wonderful daddy. He's been gone about an hour and a half and has called to check on us a few times already. I love him...

We are supposed to be driving back this afternoon - I'm very much NOT looking forward to that with a sick kid!
Awww Ank, sorry for your loss and that DD is sick! Comfort

If you will be traveling with formula, it's best to just plan on buying a bottle of water on the other side of security. You can usually find a room temp. bottle of h20 in the newstands.

I bought those similac singles on-the-go packs specifically for travel. Perfect for making a quick 4 oz. bottle. I also never had any problems with carrying a lot of pumped milk on board.

Also, DH and I were able to get away with each bringing a diaper bag on the plane when we only had DS. I always travel with a ton of stuff so another free bag was really helpful.

I know you probably already heard this but tylenol makes the baby more comfortable with altitude changes. I would just give DS a little right as we got on the plane. HTH

Those Wonka gummies are $1.39 on price cut, so even more overage with mfr's and TQ's.

Those damn nut clusters didn't come off for me either, what a stupid deal! Annoyed

There are peelies on My Little Pony movies just like the Strawberry Shortcake ones.

I was wondering about infant Tylenol. I was actually thinking infant Dramamine would be a Godsend. Mini took it once on a long car trip (NE to South Padre island) and slept like a rock. Roll She was about 9 at the time. My mom joked about the miracle drug Dramamine for a long time after that!

I have to decide whether I am going to do BM or formula. We did get Nutramigen samples from the ped.

Sorry you didn't get your free nuts either, but I'm glad it's not just me! Smilie I'm out of the $2 NV peelies so I'm done with this deal, but you're right... totally stupid (and not in a good way).

I was going to post the video [azcentral.com] here, but thought maybe it was not appropriate for all the moms in here. But there, I did it anyways. It's absolutely awful to watch.

Speaking of toys ( Whee ) saw some new Indiana Jones and Spongebob Legos on clearance. Also, Madden 09 for wii was down to 75% off I think and I saw We Ski and Snowboard for $19.98 maybe? Something around there.

I need some creative help for DS #4's halloween costume. MIL got him a Scooby-doo costume sized 3t-4t...keep in mind that he is only 2, well almost 3 but still! I didnt fit, He was very disappointed but is now willing to be Shaggy.

We went to W and got him a green Tee and brown pants, his sister has this cool triple decker plastic hamburger from her kitchen stuff that I'll have him carry and draw a goatee on him w/ sharpie or something. Now my prob is how to make him easily recognizable. Do I have him carry 1) a tiny Scooby doll too, 2) the Scooby head backpack as the treat bag, or 3) sew my all black Great Dane and brown Tee w/ blue collar and b ring him along.

#3) is the hardest as we go to the local outlet mall to TorT, I'd have to shop for and sew the dog outfit, AND on top of having a newborn baby girl we will have to leash the dog = full hands all over!

I'm leaning towards #2 but it is the least creative...anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks for your advice! hug Wow, on your experience! EEK! I wrote down an "incident statement" and do have a call to someone in HR (left a voicemail). In my investigating this morning it appears that the HR dept here do not do much of anything about these kinds of situations. Frown

And, yes!! The milkshake defintely helped! Big Grin

Thanks, Teri. hug I thought about that too, but the supervisor was there at the incident yesterday and spoke to me afterwards saying that she thinks we need to improve our communication skills. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) She's pretty much useless...but I do like the idea of emailing a summary to her. I did mention that it was a hostile attack yesterday to her and she pretty much glazed over it. I do think the supervisor has not dealt with this kind of situation before. Another thing is that our emails are open to the public (we are a public institution) and I am not too crazy about putting this out there... Scratchchin What to do...

Yes, you can relate! We deal with things that others do not and so they never seem to understand! Thanks, kopenney, your words really helped. I'm so sorry you had a really bad ending to a really bad experience! hug

This institution seems to want to sweep things under the rug a lot of times and it really is very difficult to have any HR involvement. I've been searching for a transfer, but nothing is coming up. Frown

Now to look forward to our staff meeting today... Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
Allow HR to contact you by next week, if you hear nothing, contact the head of HR or the head supervisior of your company. I understand your predictiment and they have to move you out of a department or at least consider changes... not in your communication skills!!! People errr... What kind of business do you work in? Many times alot of companies try to appear perfect and then do not want to lose all their employees so leave many issues unresolved thus losing employees. HUGS!!

ANK...

I cannot find your original post... but my thoughts and prayers are with your family to get over such a great loss!!

I hope your DD feels better. HUGS!!

Well, we have decided on a name, It's the 1st time ever agreeing b4 the baby is even here, but I like to wait until they are here before telling people because I dont need anyones opinion - good or bad - and I dont need to see the judgement in peoples faces.

My kids have different names and my FIL has never liked any of them so I have learned not to share until there is no going back. Others are named DS#1 Aisling (pronounced Ash-ling), DS#2 in Lucian Layne (after the former Alice in Chains singer), DD#3 is Teagan Vegas (because while 8 1/2 month preggers w/ her DH and I flew to Las Vegas to renew our wedding vows in my original wedding dress sitting atop of a convertable PT crusier in the drive thru chapel) & DS#4 is Breckin Steel (Breckin was the only name that came to my mind thru the whole pregnancy and DH agreed to it if he got Steel)

This little girl, had she been a boy, would have been named Cullen or Kellan; after the Twilight Saga. I have managed to derive a Twilight-esque name for her. Now I need to work out the spelling and the exact pronouncation of it by saying it over and over out loud where no one can hear me to get a feel for the natural flow of it. laugh out loud
